If anyone is a 10.5D, Baker's Boots and Clothing has one pair of the Weso Mister Lou Engineer Boots in-stock in this size. For over a year my Maryam Toscanello Mister Lous were my favorite pair of boots in my collection.
In typical BigDawg fashion, I couldn’t be limited to entering just 2 pairs of boots and 1 leather good. I bought 2 extra Stitchdown Memberships, so I could enter 6 pairs of boots and 3 leather goods. I’m Doming for fun and for me. I do have a couple of pairs I’m really going to give a big effort on with the Patina, but I want to enjoy more than 2 pairs of boots for the next 6 months.
My Wesco entry this year is my favorite boot style I’ve ever owned, the Mister Lou Engineer Boot. This pair is in Horween Natural Chromexcel. I got lucky with this pair and hit the CXL lottery. The boots have a few natural looking scars on them, but there’s no loose grain, and the pull-up on this leather is insane. They’re chock full of oils and waxes. Of the 6 pairs I’ve entered this year, I believe this pair and my Maryam Natural Horsebutt Baker’s x White’s Bounty Hunters have the most patina potential and will more than likely both be my most worn 2 pairs I’ve entered

In the final 7 days before the Stitchdown Patina Thunderdome starts, I’m trying to wear the boots I’ll miss the most over the next 6 weeks. Today when I went into my boot room, and this pair of Doc Wellies was calling my name.
I bought these earlier in the week on eBay. They’re arriving today. These were advertised as Street Fighter X M. Bison. What little info I found on this pair leads me to believe these are unsanforized.
How can I tell if they are or if they aren’t? If they are, what do I need to do before the first wear? I’m kind of between sizes right now. My 42’s are getting loose, and my new Greencast in 40 arrived yesterday. They’re a minor tick snug, but they’re also stretch, so that helps. Whatever I need to do, I want to do whatever method will result in the least amount of shrinkage.
If you know anything about this pair, please drop some knowledge on me. I’m not even sure what weight these are. I just thought they were cool and ordered them.

This bad boy arrived earlier this week. I love it so far. I only wore it around the house in the AC for 5 minutes, but I know this thing will see some serious wear this fall/winter. The jacket is quite substantial. It’s got to be a minimum of 5lbs and maybe as much as 7lbs.
This purchase is also a small moral victory for me. I wanted last year’s version of this jacket last fall. I was too heavy and big to fit in the 3XL which is the largest size they make. This year I was able to buy it in 2X. Overall I’m down 170lbs in 20 months, and I’m still losing a little every week.
But I was super bummed they didn’t have any MIJ18’s in larger sizes. I guess I can’t buy them all. 🥲
I said about a week ago that the first time these went on sale 20% off I’d buy it. Lo and behold within 5 minutes of finding out these were on sale for Labor Day, I’d already checked out. This is the 64 Mahogany Leather Smooth jacket. The weight is substantial, and it feels great on. I’m thinking about possibly entering this in the Leather Goods category for the Stitchdown Patina Thunderdome starting next month. Decisions, decisions.
These just dropped on the Drew’s website for only $199. The catch is that the whole batch is seconds/blems. I talked to Kyle Baker about them, and the bulk of them have some sort of inconsistent welt stitching. It’s not perfect all the way around on any of the boots. A few boots did get minor scuffs in transit.
Last week I paid $299 for the Wickett & Craig Walnut Waxed Flesh version of this boot. These are very nice boots. I find them to have more arch support and more comfort than a Red Wing Moc-Toe. Per Kyle’s recommendation, I went with my Brannock sizing. I’m usually an 11.5E on the 55/4811, and 12D in these Drew’s Moc-Toes is perfect.

I hit the CXL PowerBall Lottery with this pair. The clicking is absolutely perfect. I’ve never had a new CXL boot look this great right out of the box. This pair is made on the 5050 Last with Dainite Sole. As usual, I recommend Baker's Boots and Clothing for all your White's Boots needs.
I’m a few weeks in to owning these, and I absolutely love them. The base jeans are Skinner’s standard 22oz offering, but the double front panels are made of his new 18oz Slubby offering.
This month I’m doing a series called #SelvedgeCowboy where I’m going to showcase both my cowboy boots collection and my Selvedge collection. Last month I did #31boots31days where every day of the month of August I wore a separate PNW boot every day of the month. I haven’t counted, but I don’t think I have 30 pairs of cowboy boots, so this series won’t be every day.

Just got in the new Drew's Boots Wickett & Craig Walnut Waxed Flesh Moc-Toe boots from Baker's Boots and Clothing. These things are bangers at the current $299 sale price. For those looking for sizing help, Kyle told me to go true to size, and I did. These are 12D and fit like a glove. I predominantly wear 11.5E in most PNW boots.
This is the pair that turned me into a horsehide/Horsebutt junkie and a Louaholic. Just about every custom White’s and Wesco boot I’ve ordered since these have all been horse leather. I love the beautiful rolls instead of creases in the leather. This pair has 40+ wears on it, and they still look brand new (although I don’t really do anything strenuous while I wear them).
Has anyone else taken advantage of this sale? I grabbed a pair of the C350 Chelsea (4014) in Black Waxed Flesh. I think the Chelseas and the Hardtack are pretty great values at these prices. I also grabbed a couple of cool t-shirts that were 40% off.

Today’s BOTD is a pair of Nicks Doc Wellington boots in Horween Dublin Light Natural, built on the 55 last, and has a leather sole. This pair of boots was essentially my house slippers during the cold months. They’re great to just pull them on quickly to take the dogs out to potty or check for packages on the porch and mail in the mailbox. I will eventually order another pair of these with a more aggressive outsole like a Vibram Honey or something along those lines.

I love all my N&F jeans, but I’m a big fan of the 17oz Brawlers. They’re just heavy enough for you to know you’re wearing something substantial, but they’re still light enough to wear in the summer. These are Weird Guy fit. For some reason that fit is perfect for my lower body proportions.
