Gym Outfit

Gym Outfit

I know it's not fashion, but I just started at the gym again and also decided to start wearing shorts at my waist. It's definitely a weird feeling and I keep thinking I'm doing it wrong. Does this seem ok or does anyone have any recommendations? I know it's just sweatpants and a shirt but if there are better options or I should be wearing it differently please let me know.

Just looking for either recommendations or reassurance that this looks fine. Thanks!

advice for switching from wearing trousers under the belly to at the natural waist...

I've lost a bunch of weight over the last couple of years, and I'm slowly having to rethink how I dress. One thing I've always done, probably without ever questioning it, is wear my trousers and shorts underneath my stomach.

For context, I'm 5'11", around 350 lb, and usually wear 4-6XL tops that have to be extra long (around 36-37 inches) so they cover my stomach properly. My trousers and shorts have generally been a 2XL/48-inch waist.

I'm considering switching to wearing my trousers around my natural waist instead, partly because it seems like I'd have far more clothing options if I didn't need such long tops. It would also hopefully stop my trousers bunching around my ankles because they no longer need to compensate for being worn so low.

To try it out, I bought some 54-inch stretch cargo trousers and a pair of 4XL stretch shorts. They actually seem to fit about right when worn around belly-button height.

Standing up, I genuinely think they look much better. My proportions seem more balanced, my legs look longer, and even a "regular" 5XL top sits much better now it isn't hanging so low.

If I only had to stand up all day, I'd be well happy.

The problem is sitting down.

As soon as I sit, my stomach naturally spreads out and pushes against the waistband. The stretch material does its job, so they're not uncomfortable, but I end up with a really pronounced line around my stomach where everything settles over the waistband. I feel like I look ridiculous and know I'll become insanely self-conscious about it in public.

So I'm wondering whether this is simply how it is when you carry most of your weight around your belly. Am I trying to force something that just isn't going to work until I hopefully lose a bit more weight?

Has anyone else gone through this transition? Did you stick with it? Did it become more comfortable over time, or am I missing some obvious trick to make this work?

I'd really appreciate hearing from people with a similar build and what your experiences were.

Cheers.

Swimsuit

I’m looking for recommendations for swimsuits. I wear my pants under my gut I know it’s gonna be more difficult and save me the just do it the other way. I’m just looking for some sort of stretchy swimsuit that has an xl or xxl size that the thighs aren’t crazy tight. It’s crazy to me that I can find so many gym shorts but no swimsuits. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What are your favorite clothing items that help slim you out?

Obviously as big men, we aren’t going to (or might not even want to) look skinny, but I’m hoping to get a compilation of the best items that help you look slimmer. For instance vertical over horizontal lines etc.,

BF struggling to find trousers/jeans that fit his thighs

Hi all, posting this as my boyfriend is a bit embarrassed to do it himself.

He has a 46/48 inch waist and when we buy jeans or trousers they usually fit him there fine however he has larger thighs and every single pair of bottoms we buy fit his thighs like leggings - they're super tight.

Does anyone have recommendations of a brand that does straight leg bottoms that are actually straight leg/looser for bigger guys?

Work wear for hot and lazy day

It’s stupidly hot today so no sleeve, Casio Gshock for the beach after and linen cargo short

In this weather linen feel like a need more than a fashion statement tbh 🐀

Swimsuit etiquette

I am not the type of big guy who wears a shirt at the pool, I used to be that guy but gave it up as a I got older. My only problem is that I really don’t know where a swimsuit is supposed to sit on a bigger guy. Should it be high waisted? Below the belly? Any advice or recommendations are appreciated.

Oxknit??

Been seeing these ads for Okknit on my social media, browsed the website a few times. Can anyone speak to the quality of the garments? They look cool and are not priced to bad. Or is this a case of too good to be true?

Seat depth adjustment , does it actually solve the long leg problem or is it a gimmick

I'm 6'4" but with long legs and a short torso. Basically if I sit all the way back so my back touches the lumbar, the seat pan hits the back of my calves. If I scoot forward, my lower back is just hanging there with no support.

backrest height is always wrong too. I keep seeing seat depth adjustment brought up as the fix. is it actually useful or is it just a 1 inch adjustment that doesn't really change anything?

Saw the nouhaus ergo morph listed with both of those adjustments which got me curious. anyone here with really long legs found that seat depth actually made a fit difference or am I just chasing a spec that won't fix the floating back problem?

Tapered Pants for the Bigger fellas?

I carry most weight in my thighs and man ass - as a result I almost always have to size up the waist to get the room I need.

Work in a business casual setting - the problem I am running into is to get pants that fit my waist and arse, the leg openings around the ankle usually end up looking massive and my pants flail around when I walk because they aren’t as tapered of a cut.

Any recommendations out there for a brand/cut? Or how to properly convey what I need to a tailor?

Thank you in advance!
