Trimmer head fell off today while trimming. It seems like something is missing from the tube. Inserting the head back into the tube does nothing, just freely moves in and out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
22HP Briggs Engine of John Deere La145 repeatedly loses power before surging and recovering. See video. This happens about every 30 to 45 seconds over & over again. Any ideas if I’m looking at a Fuel Issue, Vacuum Leak with manifold or Carbeurator?
Okay, so I need some help or get pointed in the right direction.
I have a 2020 Z345M riding mower. 2.5 weeks ago, I went to fire it up for the first mow of the year. It did not turn over and I ended up replacing the starter solenoid and the starter. That fixed the problem, it fired right up and mowed almost an acre no issue.
Last week, started right up. I backed it out and then had to hop off and turn it off. When I went to start it again 2 minutes later, it was completely dead. I jumped the battery and started the mower.
Once I engaged the mowing blades, the engine sounded like it wanted to die and the fuel light was on. I think, ok no probs, filled the tank a week before and it wouldn’t have usually been empty yet but I add zero ethanol fuel anyway, which I what I used all the time.
Fuel is totally topped off, re-jump it and starts up. Once the mowing deck is engaged again, the engine goes back to sounding like it’s struggling. I stop the blades and the engine goes back to normal. Re-engage the blades again they don’t turn on at all.
The fuel light is still on, solid not flashing.
I noticed that there’s no fuel in the fuel filter. I shut it down and start trying to problem solve.
The fuses don’t look blown and there is still a full tank of fuel. Since it’s been parked, there is now fuel in the fuel filter again.
Obviously, I need to replace the battery. But I’m confused and just need some help with what could be the cause or how to trouble shoot this.
YouTube and google have suggested possible stuck fuel float for the fuel light but the rest of this cluster is a mystery.

FIXED THE ISSUE! ENDED UP BEING THE OIL SENSOR. UNPLUGGED IT AND HAVE HAD NO ISSUES AT ALL. THANKS EVERYONE!

Title says it all. When the bike is leaned over, it'll start and idle just fine.
As soon as I stand it up, it'll die.
Checked the carb, float, needle and cleaned them all up.
In my mind, this is 100% carb related issue, but not sure what else to check. If not a carb issue, what else could it be?
My weedwacker won’t start and I’m pretty sure it’s from this tube dangling out. I tried finding where it plugs into but didn’t have much luck. Anyone know how to fix this?
bought an old generator with a tecumseh h35 engine, looking for carb overhaul parts. old school, has an oil treated foam air cleaner and a straight thru carb with no bowl. has an updraft tube into the head. offhand I don’t see any numbers on the carb. hoping that and a pic are enough to identify it? TIA!
Need a new trimmer for my 1.25 acre property. I was going back and forth between the PAS 225 and the M18 weed trimmer with Quick Lok. I’m not sure how great the electric will do but I hear the 225 is very underpowered so I was just trying to get some opinions from people.
I have some areas of heavier growth I need to clean up and if the 225 is going to bog out I don’t want to waste my time with it but once I get it cleaned up and stay on top of it the power shouldn’t matter too much I suppose.

Trying to get this working, newest issue to arise is when running, throttle cable will not work to increase revs, when its turned off - cable works fine.

I bought my first ever riding lawn mower off Craigslist earlier this month. I paid $500 for it and, to be completely fair, it was working when I checked it out in person.
Loaded it up on a trailer, drove it home, and then the issues became apparent... Blown head gasket, valves out of adjustment, oil getting pulled through the breather tube and into the carburetor and into the fuel lines and finally leaking out of the fuel pump, and now...? Broken automatic pressure release on the camshaft.
Most of it has been fixed. A new camshaft kit is arriving tomorrow and I'm retrofitting a standalone choke cable to separate the choke from the throttle. Which is so stupid...
Anyways. Amidst my repeated engine disassemblies, two of the screw holes for the plastic engine cover (along with the air intake filter) snapped. Is this a major concern? How would I even go about trying to fix it?
I picked up this woodchipper from a guy for $50. I've worked on several Tecumseh engines and am pretty familiar with them. This is your standard HM80 8hp. The guy said the needle and seat needed replaced as it was constantly flooding. I replaced the fuel jet bolt and adjuster, needle, seat, brass float (with plastic), and carb bowl. (If you look closely you can see it shine!)
On replacement, the needle works as I can hold the float up and it stops the gas flow. Put the bowl back on, no dripping. However, after running for awhile, and then turning off suddenly constant dripping out the air inlet.
I believe it's one of 2 things.
A) I haven't fully cleaned out the fuel tank and there may be a small piece of gunk intermittenly blocking the needle from fully seating, or.
B) there is something wrong with the autopriming system. My other experience is with these have had primers, this one does not and seems to have an auto one at full choke.
Curious if other Tecumseh fans could weigh in.
2 hours of driving, 3 counties, 2 phone calls, and 5 businesses ranging from auto parts, to home improvement, to stihl dealers, just to find a T27 T handle. Only place that had what I was after was harbor freight, and i didnt need to spend $40 on a set for one tool for one time. Are chainsaws the only only thing in existence that requires torx t handles? This is a Stihl 028 AV Woodboss.
Final edit and issue has been fixed: I made the aluminum holes in the fins JUST big enough to fit the shouldered screwdriver i had with help from u/CaptainPunisher.
Linked a video of flywheel not turning when I try to turn the key, it ran a couple days ago, I just recently purchased this used for cheap so worth putting some time and money into. Was using it when I put it into reverse without disengaging the mower blade and it crapped out, haven't been able to get it to turn over since taking the plug wire off to check the spark plug. Plug looks fine, turned it to top dead center, took air filter off and sprayed started fluid into air intake and still nothing.
I am new to this sub and looking for the experts’ inputs please.
My e110 JD riding mower wouldn’t start and after trying everything I opened up the engine and found the camshaft in pieces. Going to replace it.
My concern is the broken pieces seem to have taken out a small slice of the bottom of engine cylinder wall as in the pic. Is this serious damage or is it worth repairing the camshaft?

I'm hoping someone here can tell me what I'm overlooking here because I'm at a loss. I have a 440 husqvarna chainsaw that won't start. It started after being winterized with stabil all winter. I go to fire it up and it won't start. I checked compression (100 psi), I checked spark and replaced the plug just in case. Still had no luck. So.I think its the carb and replace it. Still no luck. In my mind the only thing left is the in tank fuel filter so I replaced that and still nothing. I also swapped out the fuel for fresh 50:1 and nothing. What am I missing here? This thing won't fire at all. I had one instance after I put the new carb on that it ran for two seconds and died. Other than that It doesnt fire.
Does anyone have a photo or diagram of the GX160 governor assembly? I took it apart last fall and forget where the rod and springs go
Hello , I have a blue bird aerator. That had an engine replaced a few years back. I am wanting to do maintenance on it. The main thing is it's equipped with a gear reduction form the motor to a pulley which turns a belt .
My question is what oil would you put in it ? It has a separate drain plug and fill plug . I've read non detergent 30 weight is suggested ?
The issue is that it is outrageous in price like over 70 bucks a liter . I've also found air compressor oil or pressure washer oil /pump oil. These are 30 weight oil and non detergent . Is this a good idea ? Or see if I can get the correct oil ?
Now what about engine oil ? I've always used 30 weight oil in all my stuff. But now I am finding about non detergent oils ? We are taking 4 stroke engines here.
Any insight would be appreciated.
