What in the world is this engine?

It's a 2 stroke, it is relatively large (don't gauge using my hands they are large) the recoil starter is perpendicular to the crankshaft and it uses the pulley that can be seen under the engine cover in some pics, it has a walbro diaphragm carb, I don't know what it came off of and the only stamping anywhere on the engine that could indicate anything is a small diamond shape in a circle that may have an italicized M in it

Where would you want to place a jack with a 2x4 to jack up the motor a few inches to remove oil pan?

Helping my buddy lift the motor on his 1972 C10 with a 350 small block Chevy to clean the oil pan after sitting for 2 decades, where would I want to place the jack? Everything I've read says on the harmonic balancer, and that seems like the only place to put it, but just looking for better options if there are any

Probably zero chance, but do you guys think they'll take this?

First decent picture ever, probably many things wrong but I'm proud of it

Is this actually what I think it is?

I received this plane probably about a year and a half ago and started to restore it, I'm looking to finish it soon. From what I can tell it's a 1935-1939 Sargent #5. As far as I'm aware Sargent made craftsman planes for a while. Knob is mahogany, tote lost in house fire, on the bottom of the frog there is "409" stamped into the cast iron, the #4 and #5 allegedly used the same frog which would explain the stamping, if anyone could confirm that what I'm looking at is a pre-war Sargent #5 that'd be greatly appreciated

So... do I put this here or in a light bulb subreddit (I'm sure there probably is one)

I was welding a nut to a broken bolt to extract it and it looked like this, I'm sure at that temperature I could forge weld it 😂

What do y'all think of a homemade gun that I 3d printed last night for the 4th?

Simple smoothbore that uses an impact firecracker to propel a 6.65mm steel BB to roughly 500fps based on initial tests when designing the gun. I haven't tested it yet as I'm waiting until 5-6pm CST, however, I'll let y'all know how it goes. THIS IS LEGAL IN MY STATE, homemade guns are legal as long as they are able to be detected by a metal detector, however, if you are looking to do something similar check your state's laws. I will not be sharing the files but I may be able to describe to you how it works.

EDIT: it didn't work

Budget bass build

I'm thinking of building a budget Bluetooth speaker setup with some decent bass, I have a board from a pre built Bluetooth speaker, but I broke the case so now I want to repurpose the board. I'd like to do a passive radiator setup in a hardwood box with a 4 inch full range driver and an 8 inch passive radiator, what do y'all think

Components

Dayton Audio PC105-4 4" Full-Range Poly Cone Driver

Dayton Audio DSA215-PR 8" Designer Series Aluminum Cone Passive Radiator

Base speaker

Can I use this piston?

Piston off of a Briggs 420cc vertical shaft, cylinder is in good condition, gouged just barely enough to catch a fingernail, stock motor, caused by trying to get it running by pouring gas into the intake without me knowing the head gasket was blown into the pushrod tunnel, gas diluted the oil and caused this, rod bearing is perfectly fine

First time planespotting, how'd I do?

I shot this using a Google pixel 7A with a pair of binoculars strapped to the case, 2x zoom on the phone, 8x zoom on the binoculars, no editing other than color balance. Embraer praetor 600

I never claimed to be any good

I know the second side was too cold, the setting just above this one immediately melted through, strong enough for what I need 🤷‍♂️

Are these two wires supposed to be like this? I'm having an issue with it popping fuses every time I turn the key, so I inspected the electrical and found this, one wire goes to the ignition switch and the other goes to the headlights

I'm trying to remove the guides on a flathead without any special tools, I would drill them almost all the way out and then remove the little bit of steel left, but the guides are angled to allow more air in, any tips?
