How to farm a Mageblood from nothing in SSF
Hey guys, I farmed 8 Eye of terror divination cards in about 24 hours in SSF Ancestors, so I thought about sharing exactly how I did it so that others looking to play with a mageblood can replicate it.
The strat has been mentioned already a couple of times and it's very simple, it's all about doing Syndicate and interacting with It that fled. Any time you execute/bargain/interrogate ITF there's a small chance they drop a card.
The only thing that matters for this strat is ITF interactions per hour, I farmed all cards in less than 400 maps, which is definetly on the luckier side. I believe the drop to be 1 card per 50-75 interactions.
Farming cycle:
The farming is simple and quick, enter map (i did it on city square), do all 3 encounters (research, intervention, fortification/transportation), leave and repeat. I did this farm in scoured maps because it makes it faster and the card is not affected by quantity.
Board setup:
We want 4 people in transport/fortification, 2 in research (one of them being Janus) and 2 in intervention (one of them being ITF).
We want Janus because Cadiro can just straight up offer you a MB or other valuable uniques. ITF in intervention in the non leader spot.
As for relationships, we only want rivalries between ITF and everyone else, so that ITF shows up in other encounters more commonly. Everyone else should be neutral with one another.
ITF is not in the syndicate by default in a new league, so the process to get to this board is as follows:
-Remove people from the syndicate until ITF shows up (took me 2 tries, but I believe it's rng). To do this you leave people with 0 stars for last when you do an encounter, sometimes they'll ask to leave the syndicate, repeat until ITF is recruited.
-While doing the previous step, you should already be prepping the board as mentioned earlier (4 people in trans/fort, 2 research/interv).
-Once you have the setup with ITF in intervention as non leader, you can start building the rivalries. You do this by leaving ITF last everytime you encounter them, sometimes you are offered the option to betray someone else and create a rivalry.
You repeat this process until all or most other members have a red line with ITF.
Other things to mention:
The only safehouse we ever do is research and only because of Janus, don't bother doing any other safehouse.
I'm not sure whether the card is drop restricted by lvl or not, but just for the record all my cards dropped from ITF in a T16 map.
How to fix certain mistakes:
There's a couple things we might do that are a bit detrimental but all of them are fixable.
You created a friendship/rivalry between 2 people not involving ITF:
Don't worry this is not even that big of a deal, it can be undone by simply following the cycle of relationship, it goes from neutral-friend-rival-neutral. I also don't believe this affects the strat much as long as you don't have many of them.
You made ITF the intervention leader:
Simple to fix, just wait for ITF to show up in any encounter (should be easy if you have rivalries) and interrogate them. This will force the other intervention member to become the leader and put ITF as a member.
You removed one of ITF rivalries by making them neutral:
Same as before you follow the cycle and make them rivals again.
You removed someone from the syndicate that is not ITF:
Not a big deal, just put the new member where the older member was and try to build a rivalry with ITF. If you removed the other intervention member, you have to put ITF back as a member by interrogating them and making the new member the leader.
You removed all rivalries:
This is bad but no the end of the world, just have to start building the rivalries again. This will nerf the strat a bit for while as you build them up again.
You removed ITF from the syndicate:
Really bad, you are basically at the very begining of the board building process. The silver lining is at least the board is in the 4-4-2-2 setup. Remove people from the board and get ITF back. This might take a while and will of course halt the farming process.
Going fast is key but reading what you're clicking is also very important.
That's all, this is by far the easiest way to get a MB in ssf and the best is it requires no scarabs and can be done with scoured maps. While doing this you will also get easily to high 90's (I ended lvl 99 with 20% exp). For sustaining maps I recommend clicking all the map nodes and also buying maps from kirac.
