Zink

(Sorry Zinc) So we had the idea to create a proper Zinc Countertop on our cooking island. But apparently Zinc is difficult to get in the size 4260x1260 millimeter.

Anyone with a great idea why it would work. The net size of the top is 4200by1200

Question: do you know techniques that would make a good connection (folding?!) between the sheets, without to big bumps?

Ps yes we know zinc wil change and patina will make its way to the top, that’s part of the deal. And no zinc is not lethal.

Look at zinc countertop on Pinterest or google, it’s been done and has many benefits.

This forum has been so helpful, now I have the next challenge. At our house I now have solved the door (single door hub and electric lock). My thoughts now go towards the on its own operating sliding metal door for car access. (2 remotes in the cars)

Should I try and make this thing smart: https://motorline.pt/download/manuais/portoes\_de\_correr/slide800a-ol1500-ol2000\_en.pdf

With a wireless system from ubiquiti?

I assume someone has already tried this with a wireless system. It will be hard to reach the unit with wires.

Or just replace the whole thing with a smart version?
That does connect natively to a network. There is of course power at the location.

Two questions about wireless bridging;

Building to building is understood, we are going for a the “building bridge” option.

Am I right that at the other side of the bridge I can continue with a switch to connect multiple AP’s? The bridge can be seen as a Ethernet cable right?

Second; stupidly enough we are missing a “tunnel” to run a UTP to our sauna, wash and sports room… we need to bridge 9 meters… no we can’t run UTP here now.

But in this sauna, ash en sports room we do want to connect some devices by wires.

How do we bridge these 9 meters wirelessly? So that we can run a “new” network in those rooms. Is this just adding 2 Mesh devices? And connect them both to network side 1 and the other to the network side 2.

Thank you!
