The Damn Giraffe
Hi Folks,
I'm currently trying to get this team to work, its been doing okay but I'm really suffering under the Farigaraf match up to the point where it feels pretty unwinnable.
The general gist is lead with azumarill and lopunny, fake out whatever threatens the most and set up belly drum then we are off to the races. Sinistcha heals up and redirects, pelliper counters charizard/venu lead (was originally corviknight but that match up was killing me) as aqua jet with rain unboosted one taps charizard most of the time. Kommo-o is my secondary set up, especially good for archaludon as one boost into aura sphere takes it out cleanly. Tsareena is my saving grace against priority will-o-wisp and particularly encore, as well as fake outs which is kinda the only counterplay to azu when they get set up, otherwise aqua jet just kinda runs the game.
All that to say the giraffe keeps ruining my day. Its actually good if it sets up trick room, azumaril is a slow bunny so it typically outspeeds in trick room and smacks the giraffe with knock off. Otherwise, it basically just walls everything that azumaril can do, and stops loppunny from fake out. Kommo-o also suffers as the giraffe can usually do a good chunk with psychic and either stop the set up or get it so low that it doesnt matter. I thought about going for trick room with sinistcha early on so azumarill can outspeed on second turn after setting up and bop it, but it rarely survives the turn if it gets doubled into.
I really like this team in most matchups, I'm low master but it feels quite good and pelliper neuters the issue of charizard/venu but I'm at a loss with the damn giraffe. If anyone has any ideas please hit me, I really want to make the matchup at least playable if possible.
(Also, if my evs suck then please tell me, I'm relatively new to competitive and my experiece with evs is low)
