Scholarships for TBI

Hi! I’m a 20 year old college student. I have plans to attend medical school. During my freshman year (Feb 2025), I fell in my dorm (standing on a chair with wheels) and suffered a TBI. I had a fractured skull and 4 bleeds. I’m fortunate enough to be okay. However, obviously still suffer through things.

I am curious if anyone knows of any scholarships I can apply for, related to a TBI. I have come across a few, however, many of the websites are not updated. Also, if anyone knows of any additional resources, I would love to hear about them!

Trying to make the best of a bad situation😭😭

Neuropsych testing after TBI

Waiting for nueropsych results of my cognitive testing and was wondering if anyone else has done this testing and what came out of it for you

Hi I’m 20 year-old female currently in college as a bio Major planning to go to med school. About a year and a half ago during my freshman year fell hit my head had fractured skull for bleeds was considered a severe traumatic brain injury. Overall I came out fine. I had to be monitored in the ICU for two nights, but was fortunate enough to not have any further complications somehow. I may have developed Apple gypsy but we’re still trying to get it diagnosed because my EEG came back clear, but it appears to be mini seizures still.

I started seeing a new neurologist who wanted me to get cognitive testing which I just did and it took about four hours, but I’m just curious if anyone has had this done and felt the testing did really anything for them because honestly for me I think the only thing that will come out of it is being humbled.

Like I’ve made it through organic one and two, biochem, etc. after the accident. But I feel like this is gonna just be like … oh I was affected in my memory is worse in my IQ dropped like I honestly don’t see any good coming out of this

Shingles pain, relief on head

Looking for any and all recommendations

My grandfather is 86 but very active and lives like he is in his early 70s. A few years ago he got shingles on his head. Initially his eye was affected basically whole head, etc. it never healed fully and he has been in excruciating pain for years. He has done everything been prescribed every thing under the sun. He’s done acupuncture, ketamine treatments, nerve blocks red light therapy, CBDTHC edibles. However, nothing lasts some of those treatments work as temporary pain, relief but very temporarily. It’s so awful to watch because he does his best to act like he’s not in pain all the time. he can’t sleep at night ever. He can’t even wear a sleep mask.

If anyone has any bizarre recommendations, please help at this point. I feel like it just needs to be something that you would never expect.
