Cat Custody?
My roommate and I have three cats, Milo, Jack, and River. We got River first, he’s now 9 and is my roommates cat. Then we got Milo, who is 7 and is mine. Then we got Jack, who is 3, and we never decided who he belonged to.
Well now my roommate and I are moving apart and we must decide who gets Jack. Jack seems to like both his brothers, but spends more time sleeping and playing with Milo, as when Jack was a kitten, Milo was kind of inseparable from him. Milo and River both seem somewhat attached to Jack, but not attached to each other. We don’t know who gets Jack.
I think my roommate will move to a better situation, a home with just her, River, and Jack if he goes with her. I’d be introducing Jack to a couple more people and cats as I’m moving to my parent’s house. Jack is a scaredy cat, takes a while to adjust, and generally doesn’t like new people, though he’s a sweetheart once he warms up.
Where does Jack go? I feel my roommate has a better living situation, but watching him and Milo cuddle all the time makes me nervous I’m separating best buddies.
