Let’s call my husband John. When I try to get my husband’s attention when he’s in another room, I say “Hey John”. He has given me the feedback that the tone with which I say it stresses him out. I’ve tried different tones, a lighter one, a more singsongy one, all of which annoy him. We are not ones for pet names (we could never seriously call eachother “babe”), so I’m at a loss of how to call out to him.

Anyone else experience this problem? Any advice for how to talk to my husband in a way that doesn’t strike fear in his heart? 😂
