Existence on Autopilot

I’m a working professional living in Gurugram, and lately, the isolation has been hitting me like a ton of bricks. I’m writing this because I genuinely need to vent to people who might get it.

To give a bit of context: I don't really have a family connection due to past parental abuse, and for all practical purposes, I am what you’d call completely friendless. I try my best to keep my life together. I stay groomed, I go to the gym regularly, and I’ve managed to maintain low body fat and keep up appearances. On the outside, it probably looks like I have it all figured out. But on the inside, it feels totally meaningless.

None of my old escapes work anymore. I used to love gaming, bingeing shows, watching anime, reading mangas/manhwas, and losing myself in Reddit threads. Now? Anhedonia has set in completely, and nothing hits the same.

I’ve tried putting myself out there. I’ve used dating apps and networking apps, not for dating, but just to find genuine, human connection. It’s been a miserable failure. It feels like Gurugram is built for established friend groups, corporate cliques, or people who already have an insider circle. Unless you have a specific shared environment or a solid common ground, making actual friends here as an adult feels nearly impossible.

It feels like no one actually cares, like if I disappeared tomorrow, no one would even check to see if I was still alive. I keep hoping someone will reach out, lend a hand, and help pull me out of this, but waiting for a lifeline gets exhausting. I’m doing everything I can to stay sane, but I'm tired.

Thanks for letting me rant. Has anyone else gone through this kind of severe isolation, and how did you actually build a real connection from absolute scratch here?
