Could wasps have caused these holes in my ceiling?

I found a black wasp in my room 2 days in a row. I noticed that there was a bunch of little holes on my ceiling and then a bigger one in the corner. Is this caused by the wasps? When I plugged the hole the wasps stopped coming in.
