New Perspectives

Weird realization:
I used to think getting attention from girls / parties / social scenes would feel deeply fulfilling if I ever became confident enough to fully enter those environments.
Now after actually improving socially, getting fitter, going out more, etc…
…I honestly mostly care about:
discipline,
consistency,
health,
calmness,
inwardness,
Shabbos,
learning,
and waking up early feeling clear-headed.
Not anti-social.
Not chasing or hoping for validation from random females (especially abstract ones 😂)
Pretty surprised that the things I once idealized now feel much less emotionally interesting than structure and purpose.
Younger me would be shocked reading this 😂

Sitting Calmly in a college party/ Bar

I had a weird realization tonight.

A few years ago I thought bars/parties/social scenes were this huge mysterious thing I was somehow missing out on.

Now I can sit in a packed bar full of loud college students and my internal reaction is basically:

“Wow everyone is yelling.”
😂

Not judging anyone. Everyone seemed nice.

But somehow:

a calm nervous system,
structured workouts,
hydration,
Shabbos,
and looking forward to Shacharis tomorrow

now feel more emotionally rewarding than the actual party environment.

The funniest part is that younger me would NEVER believe this post was written by future me.
