Demanding Adult Child
My 30 yr old only child (son). Is not speaking to me for the past 5 days. He is planning on proposing to his girlfriend of 7months in July. He called to ask if we could come down to Baltimore for it. He wants to get some people together. We live in NY. We happened to have a party on that day which I relayed to him. He got very insulted and started to threaten me with not inviting me to the wedding. “You better make the right decision”. The plans were not finalized so we left it that we would probably go but let us know when the date is finalized. Ranted at us that we didn’t care about him bla bla. A couple of days later he said plans have changed he going to do this on 4th of July weekend. My husband and I already have plans for the 4th and the 5th. Involving family. I told him that and he blew up at me again. He is making me feel very uncomfortable by threatening me to be there and saying very insulting things. I am very angry with him. Don’t understand why he is rushing. These plans were put in place 2 weeks ago. He is stressing out and I told him to just slow down we usually talk sometimes twice a day. He has not called me in 5 days I really don’t even feel like calling him. I’m tired of being used as a doormat
