Passed series 79
Honestly, I’m sharing this because I felt really discouraged after scoring a 60% on the benchmark exam. But for anyone studying for the Series 79, I genuinely think Knopman Marks is one of the best prep resources out there.
If you don’t come from a finance background, I’d recommend reading the full book thoroughly. If you already have some finance experience, you can probably focus more on the key concepts and practice questions.
A few areas I’d especially prioritize:
Research vs. Investment Banking rules
Tender offers
EV/EBITDA multiples and valuation concepts
I also wanted to share this because I was extremely nervous going into the exam after not doing as well as I hoped on the benchmark. But if you’re getting through the material and scoring around 65% or higher, you’re likely in a solid position. Reg D, Rule 144
Also, for what it’s worth, I personally didn’t see much bond math on my exam.
