63 on Monday

Hi everyone! I apologize but this question is more series 63 related. I passed my SIE this January and decided to take the 63 this summer. My firm is sponsoring me and I’ve studied for the last 4 days and have been getting 71-88 on 2dollartest.com and then 72 on the Kaplan Mastery exam. Does anyone have any recommendations I have the test tmmr (Monday)

Access to Achieveable

Does anyone still have access to their Achievable account that they’d be willing to share? I’m currently preparing for my licensing exams. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Qualified Clients AUM & Net Worth level Increase

Hi all, I have my test today and just realized that the AUM & net worth requirements to be considered a qualified client increase from $1.1 & $2.2 million to $1.4 & $2.7 million effective yesterday. If I see a question regarding this on the exam, which would be correct?

Series 63 take 2

I failed the 63 by 3 points after studying for 8 days originally.

(23/33 on state and fed securities acts & related rules and regs, 17/27 on communications w/ customers & prospects; ethics)

The first time I got a 77% on my KM diagnostic and benchmark and answered 1,400 questions (1,000 original questions), so I felt like I should've been okay, but it just didn't seem to work out.

I had felt like the questions and answers were phrased so differently that KM, but I was also quite burnt out at the time I was taking the test. I genuinely blacked out and don't remember anything from my original exam other than 4 questions relating to books & records (none of which asked about the timing for them).

I purchased Kaplan materials and restudied. My simulated exam scores for Kaplan have been 83, 91, 89, 91. I got an 83 on the Practice exam as well. I took the achievable free exam and got an 80%.

Am I ready??? I take my next exam in 2 days

I also would love to know - what do ppl get on that free achievable exam if they don't use their materials?

Taking S7 in a week! Want to know where I stand

My firm uses Pass Perfect. I don’t mind it, but on the practice exams I feel like they throw questions at me that aren’t going to be tested/make questions unbelievably harder than they should be.

I took Ken’s baseline exam and got an 83% and I got a 79% on one of his Brutal exams. I feel a lot more comfortable taking those than the Pass Perfect. I also just bought his options course (I was missing a lot of questions on options that should be gimmes)

For most of my PP exams some questions look like something I haven’t even read. Which confuses the fuck out of me.

Here are my scores, any advice is welcome

series 63 - passed (second attempt) with KM and Kaplan Qbank

hey guys! felt like sharing my experience in case this helps anyone out. took it the first time ~5 weeks ago, gave myself 4 days which was definitely enough time in hindsight but I just didn’t understand the material’s nuances well enough.

the first turn I got of the test had ~15-20 questions felt very difficult/worded with answer choices that all read effectively the same that came down to very precise differences. granted, the other 45 seemed manageable and point-and-shoot (very similar to knopman) but those 20 threw me off & I subsequently changed a lot of my answers upon review due to second guessing myself. ultimately i ended up failing by one mark.

considering my job was on the line, the next month was deeply stressful & I had pre planned vacations and such that i was unable to be fully present for. I didn’t actually study (anxiety was quite high) until the 10 days leading up to the test. I read the knopman book once, & then skimmed thoroughly the second time by making handwritten study guides for each chapter. I also watched the videos (super helpful info like court proceedings continue after death of plaintiff or defendant, exemptions for transactions can be revocable by state admin) for those extra nuggets.

it was only after this that I was finally understanding small nuances, like agent registration exclusions for issuers of securities do not include building and loan/savings and loan associations for example. I bought the Kaplan qbank and hammered out 1000qs and about 1200 on knopman (including practice tests)

by the end of it, scored a 97 and 95 on the knopman benchmark and final so was feeling good about today, but was overall still very anxious.

But thank god! Passed today in about 25 min!

my topics received (from what I can recall):

vulnerable adults course of actions
when to execute a margin agreement
state admin jurisdiction when they suspect smth
state admin jurisdiction on investigations specifically
brochure changes notification
crs changes notification
who must be bd (person selling corporate bonds or bank selling promissory notes to customers)?
state reg ia notified admin if iar changes reg
registration expiry
advertising and sales fees
soliciting one side of agency cross only
assignment
agent must report customer written complaint to supervisor
whiskey receipt lol
margin maintenance call

and so much more lol forgetting but happy to answer any questions

Series 63

I feel that NASAA and Finra ought to word questions in a more readable manner. Many of their test questions are in the passive tense (difficult to read) and use bizzaro language that is utterly vague beyond what should be needed.
In addition the question answers are ridiculously similar and arguably all correct sometimes.

Why? What are they really testing? Knowledge or how much they can twist your reading comprehension into a mess of confusion?

Also, with such crazy wording they should have a time limit closer to 1:45 for this one. (Not a mere 1:15).

Countdown to my retake of the Series 7 - A Vent

I have three weeks before I retake my Series 7. I took it on June 12th and received a 65%. My firm has me using PassPerfect, even though I successfully passed the SIE on my own in January using Achievable. I have to admit I went into the test with no confidence. My overall scores on PP were in the high 50s to low 60s, and I was amazed and dumbfounded to have scored so high. I have to admit I got hammered by options and bonds, but suitability was super easy for me.

This is my last chance to pass, or I will be terminated. I'm rereading the PP textbook, bought Kaplan's QBank, made study guides and flashcards using Quizlet, and watching videos.I even hired a tutor to work with me on bonds/options, and I am both panicked and frustrated. Nothing is getting absorbed, and I still can't wrap my head around certain concepts or terms. Needless to say, I hate, loathe, and despise bonds and options.

I have been told that I am smart enough and have the knowledge, but I have a bad habit of misreading/misunderstanding/misinterpreting with a healthy amount of overthinking/overanalyzing every question. I honestly don't know if my ADD/ADHD is responsible for this issue; I take medication to manage the condition and help me focus. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working in this case.

This is my first job after 2.5 years on medical leave. It's especially amazing, given my prior experience working in public libraries and behavioral health. I do not have a business/finance background, and my bachelor's is in Human Services. Yet the recruiter and interviewer loved that I had excellent customer service skills combined with a fun, friendly, and positive attitude.

I am absolutely looking forward to working with clients by empowering and educating them to reach their goals, fulfill their potential, and make all their dreams come true. I didn't change careers to make tons of money and become the next Warren Buffett - I did it to change lives. It's just that pesky darn Series 7 that's keeping me from making my dream come true.

Non-quant trying to take the SIE/7/63/3 in 3.5 months. Am I doomed?

hi all- I’m coming from a non-quant background (but previous experience in a financial sales role) and taking all my series exams as mandated by my new company. I’m not what you’d call quantitative… and have always had a harder time with standardized tests / studying. what are your thoughts on actually being able to pass? what are the best ways to actually pass while not being a true quant/natural test taker?

I got the knopman marks SIE material for SIE and the STC material for the 7, but haven’t made it to even thinking about the 63 or 3 yet.

thoughts on 1. my ability to take the exams? will I pass, is it possible for a non-quant/poor exam taker?

  1. knopman for SIE/STC for 7? - being reimbursed by company

  2. How have people like me actually passed? What methods strategies ect worked?

thank you all in advance. got my dream job… now it’s all about passing to make sure I can actually start.

Failed Series 7 First Attempt

As the title says, I failed lol. It is okay though, I told myself I would be happy if I got a pass or above a 65. I'm 19 and I just entered the business. When doing practice tests, I averaged about a 63 with Kaplan. On the actual exam, I got a 69. So, I'm happy as much as I would have loved to pass, I exceeded my mark.

I saw a bunch of suitability questions (oddly alot of strips questions as well), munis, options, the works. Typical stuff. One question was about BDC origins/purpose. Some odd ball ones but I know I can pass next time with more time to study.

Thank you to this community for sharing all of your experiences, they were very helpful and empowering. Now, back to studying!

I need to get my 63, 65, and my 7. In this time, while in the waiting period for the 7, should I work on the 63?

Thank you all!
