Improving the odds (3400)

Hello,

I am looking for advice, when pushing to 3.4k. initially, I reached 3k in the first week at around 265 ilvl. At the time, I was slightly ahead of the curve and had the opportunity to heal some really good dps/Tanks. Then I took a break and just returned. Naturally, the quality of players that are still pushing 3.4 has decreased

Now I want to improve my odds, while knowing a lot of keys will brick. So I have this idea, I am an totemic rsham. And I would only invite melee /phys comp classes. The idea is that I ensure that everyone stands in my healing rain AND, that we have many stuns/kicks on short CD. While this does not guarantee that people will use it, I am more hopeful a melee will kick than a caster stopping his cast.

Also, no Augs. Devourer, vdh. Instead pick classes that have a high skill floor with 30s-1 minute cds (ret. bM, fdk). This also means we are less reliant on mdi pulls and can instead do smaller pulls, which tend to be safer

Do you think this is a reasonable plan? I would always run my own key, regardless of what I get.

[Question] Healer Incentives and Healer:DPS Ratio in Solo Shuffle

Intro:
The War Within S3 introduced additional healer inflation to offset the lower number of healers. Midnight S1 introduced augmented runes + gold rewards. Now I wonder, did these incentives increase healer participation.

the Question:
I assume, you could query this via the WoW API somehow and find out if there are more "healer accounts" (not healer characters) above a certain rating threshold. Unfortunetly, I don't have this knowledge and I also don't have historical data with TWW s2 for example. So,... the best proxy is DPS queue time AND Healer role MMR : Lobby MMR. DPS Queue times directly indicate the DPS:Healer ratio. Healer Role MMR to Lobby MMR is a proxy for healers getting placed into lower or higher rated lobbies, because no appropriate healers were available.

Do people have the feeling that things have (somewhat) changed for the better. As a healer main, who is currently in the duelist range, I see fewer lobbies, where I am 100-200 mmr higher or lower then the DPS. But this is just one data point of one person.

Edit: So far, only healer mains wrote something, any dps mains can share their insights?
