I believe I'm eligible. Seeking help/consultation

I’m looking for help evaluating and pursuing a German citizenship case, and I’m willing to pay for competent assistance. I’d also appreciate honest feedback on how strong or weak the case is.

1. My Case

  • My grandfather was a German citizen, but was not born in Germany (multiple docs support this). Lived in Germany 1945-1952.
  • My grandfather and grandmother moved to the US in 1952.
  • My mother was born in wedlock in 1953 in the US. (still alive, willing to help)
  • My grandparents naturalized in the United States in 1960.
  • I am a U.S. citizen, born 1976 in the U.S.

I have quite a few documents, both original and via the web, including: immigration rolls, naturalization certificates, petition for naturalization, displaced person documents, German identity card, passports (grandfather, mother, mine), German pension letters, etc.

From my understanding, the key issue seems to be whether my mother automatically acquired German citizenship at birth through her father in 1953, and if so, whether that creates a pathway for me under modern restoration and declaration provisions.

2. What My Current Consultant Has Told Me

I’m looking to move on from my current consultant, which I don’t want to name. I’ve received mixed and conflicting guidance, and unfortunately I've wasted a year and a decent amount of money with them. They started with a Feststellung der deutschen Staatsangehörigkeit, or staatsangehorigkeitsfesstellungsverfahren (?), proposed Section 14, and then Section 15. They’ve gone from “attaining B2 German is necessary” to not being necessary, and back again. I don't know German but I'm willing to learn. I’m completely confused and I think they are, too.

3. Looking for Help

I’m looking for someone experienced with German nationality law, who has successfully done this before, to evaluate the case properly, and most importantly, achieve my goal of getting a German passport (assuming it’s possible).

Again, willing to pay.

A few questions:

  • How strong does this case sound on its face?
  • Does this sound more like a straightforward StAG §5 declaration case, or something more complicated?

If you have experience in this area, please DM me with:

  • your background/experience,
  • what services you provide,
  • and your pricing/proposal.

Thanks in advance.
