Monarch Festival is this weekend at the Living Prairie Museum - Saturday and Sunday 10am-3pm. A fantastic free, family friendly festival!

All-weekend activities:

  • Live butterflies and caterpillar displays
  • Make your own butterfly wings
  • Milkweed plant giveaway (while supplies last each day)
  • Art activities
  • Prairie Flora plant sale

Bambino Plus not running a full shot on first use after warming up

I usually run a single shot through before my actual shot to rinse the group head and warm things up. In the past few weeks it often takes at least 2 to 3 times before it runs what u would consider a normal shot. Sometimes it’s steam, sometimes it’s nothing.Sometimes it works in the first press. Running a double shot works most of the time but I’ve also had it do the same. Once it pours a full shot it runs perfectly fine until the next time it starts up from cold. I can’t imagine this is normal? I’ve had the machine 5 months and it just started doing this recently.

Are there any local workshops or courses for short story/novel writing?

I have never done fiction writing but I've had a few ideas kicking around for a few years and I think it would be fun to experiment with some writing, but curious if there are any courses or workshops locally that are good for beginners. Just something to help get me started with even how to approach writing a story. Also anything for first time novelists - I have someone in my life working on one and maybe I'd gift them a workshop.

Any tips are appreciated!

Why does my cherry tree have so few blossoms?

I have this Evan’s Cherry that I planted 2 years ago. Seeing all of the blossoms around town right now I’m wondering why my tree has so few. There’s some for sure but I think it has even less than last year which I felt was already a bit light.

Any ideas what the issue could be? Or is it just too new still?
