Is Asking for consultation fee a crime in India?

Hello everyone, i wanna share an incident that happened today in the Opd, so basically I'm working as a jr in an orthopedic setup and today a lady came up in the opd with her daughter with a complaint of mild back ache. Me and my consultant reviewed the case and wrote an appropriate Tx after a thorough questionnaire and examination of the patient which took around 25 minutes. Now the scene starts the daughter of the patient starts taunting that "you doctors charge a lot of money just for writing some medication on a piece of paper ". This made my blood boil and i replied " if it bothers you so much then you can study medicine and treat your mum ". Then the audacity of that lady, she said " doctor banne mai kya hai, waise bhi tum log Neet ke paper leak karke aur paise bharke doctor bante ho aur fir loot teh ho ". Literally i had no words , tell me years of hardwork for this ? The IMA and the govt has made a joke out of our profession and everyone wants us to treat them for free. Idk wth is going on. I would appreciate some advise on how to deal with such patients. Thankyou
