Route remasters

So I know it's likely an overdone topic, but with everyone wishlisting routes for TSW7, I thought I'd go the other way.

2 kinds of remaster though. The remaster that just pretties things up ala GWE or WSL but is free and the remaster that adds more to the route a la LIRR but has to be paid for

If you could pick ONE route to receive each of these which would it be and in the case of the addition bits, what would they be?

For me, I'd like Northern Trans Pennine to get the GWE "pretty it up" and add all the layers and timetable treatment.

I'd love West Cornwall to get the LIRR treatment. I would quite happily pay for that to get remastered and extended (as far as limits allow) with some more added branch lines. Cornwall is a top holiday spot and has so much nostalgia for me. Every time I strive out from Penzance and see (the crappy rendered) St Michael's Mount I get a hit of Marazion nostalgia... And the run down to St. Ives should be one of the most scenic ally beautiful runs in TSW

First tournament attended

Morning all,

Attending my first tournament yesterday at the Outpost in Sheffield, UK.

Didn't take a meta list at all (attached) as wanted to build a 1250 from a starter box and the three games I played yesterday represented my 3rd to 5th game of Bolt Action so went in expecting nothing but a learning experience.

Had a great time, played 3 great opponents and the tables looked amazing.

Game 1: vs USA.

Meeting engagement, table quarters, 6 objectives.

Learnt very quickly here that people take veterans to tournaments and that AA guns will murder my troops. Also had my first close combat of Bolt Action and my Germans left his vets for dead in the trench but lost 4-2. Managed 7 kill pounts

Game 2: vs Germany

Meeting engagement, long table edge, demolition

Learnt how good fast Panther II's with autocannon can be. He absolutely mullered by units gaining 11 of my 14 order dice but on the last activation of the last turn my lone surviving platoon commander made a heroic run and detonated the explosives for an unexpected win. Learnt that it's important to play the mission in this one.

Game 3: vs USA

Deployed positions, long edge. Kill stuff.

More veterans. Veterans everywhere! Also had my first taste of recce and how their reaction can be incredibly annoying 😂 and how too much 4+ hard cover can feel oppressive.

6 kill dice for me to his 5 though which means a draw.

Came 10th overall and came home eager to tweak the Greek list I'm planning.

Key learning points:

  1. veterans are really annoyingly hard to kill

  2. recce is something I need to learn to predict and play around

  3. terrain looks great but too much can take thing out of the game to the point of zero sight lines (maybe just mylcal meta or the flip side of gorgeous tables)

  4. I'm really loving Bolt Action

  5. light mortars are probably better than the medium with spotter in this meta

First Army Finished

Hi all.

Started 2 weeks ago with the aim of being able to go to a tournament at The Outpost in Sheffield next weekend. Played my first two games this week and just finished basing the army.

Really happy with it.

Can't believe a whole army built and painted in less than two weeks for under £100.

God bless Warlord Games

First game of Bolt Action done

Morning all,

Had my first game of BA this week. Managed to get my army fully built and painted in a week (god bless summer holidays)

My Germans vs my mates American Airborne (on a Japanese airfield but hey, that's the terrain we were given on our table).

Played a mission where units were brought on from a table edge rather than deployed and we had to kill units.

Lost 18 - 15 but had a great time learning the game. Struggled with hitting on 6s (coming from 40k and heresy).

Played a second game after with static deployment and objectives and won 4 - 2 having realised that HE2 destroys his vets!

2 games down and the next time I play will be in a tournament a week today lol!

Loving BA though and now already considering a second army (need to research it but Cretian defenders against the Fallshirmjager seem a fun opportunity)
