⚠️ Scam Warning: Legit Pharmacy - Fake Links!

We’ve just had a coordinated scam attack on the subreddit. Huge thanks to the community members who spotted the suspicious activity and reported it so quickly. 🙏 Reddit has now removed the account and its posts.

Unfortunately, some of you may also have received DMs from this user.

How the scam works

The scammer did enough research to know that Mounjaro is often cheaper in Northern Ireland and that delivery to the Republic is a common concern for members here.

They impersonated a well-known, legitimate Northern Ireland pharmacy, claimed that it was now delivering to the Republic, and shared a link made to look extremely similar to the pharmacy’s real web address. The fake site may also copy the appearance of the genuine pharmacy’s website.

To be absolutely clear: the legitimate pharmacy is being impersonated and is not responsible for the scam.

The aim is to convince you that you’re buying genuine medication so that you’ll enter your personal and card details. A Mounjaro order can cost several hundred euro, so the payment may not immediately look unusual, but your card details could be misused straight away.

Please protect yourself:

  • Don’t order through links sent in unsolicited DMs, posts or comments.
  • Find the pharmacy’s official website independently and check the web address very carefully.
  • A professional-looking website does not necessarily mean it is genuine.
  • Report suspicious posts and comments using Reddit’s report function.
  • Report scam DMs directly to Reddit and send us a modmail with screenshots.
  • If you entered card details on a suspicious website, contact your bank immediately.

I’m sorry to have to post this warning, but please stay vigilant. When visiting a pharmacy online, use only independently verified, legitimate links.

Thank you again to everyone who flagged this so quickly. Let’s continue looking out for one another and keeping our community safe. 💚☘️

📢 Mod Update: NEW Mounjaro Pen Design Tracker August 2026 (ROI and IE only)

Just updating our tracker post for new Mounjaro pens in Ireland.

No reports yet of 2.5mg, 7.5mg or 10mg. (edit: mod error for missing the 10mg report!) If you have one, please post below and include the details (lot number and expiry) so we can update the list.

Not sure if you have one? The EASIEST way is to look at the box it came in. Does it have squares for you to write in the date you injected your dose? Yep, you've got a new pen (the old box didn't have anything remotely like this).

To keep things clean on the subreddit, we do have to remove all the posts about new pens - just trying to keep them consolidated in one place to help out. Trust me, we all commiserate with you!

(old post with additional details on the pens here: https://www.reddit.com/r/mounjaroIreland/s/fQ3lJfTgQh)

Meditrue Update - All of ROI shipping (DPD next day/cold chain)

Hi community! 👋

We’ve just heard from the team at Meditrue, who have confirmed that they’re now officially offering delivery throughout all of the Republic of Ireland (rather than Dublin only 😁).

Shipping remains £9, with orders sent by next-day DPD delivery in discreet, temperature-controlled Woolcool packaging with an additional protective box inside.

They dispatch Monday to Thursday to help ensure packages can be delivered the following day.

I’ve included photos showing what the inside of the packaging looks like.

They’ve also mentioned that their new website is due to launch next month.

*This is an information update only. r/mounjaroIreland and Monj.ie are not affiliated with Meditrue and do not receive any commission or referral income.*

myBMI "real stories" - €250 in credit

Not sure how I feel about this, but since a sizeable (haha... less sizable?) portion of our community is with myBMI I thought I'd mention it.

I was in my account checking to see if my consultation had been approved (seems there's a bit of a summer delay/backlog) and I noticed a new tab on the left called "Real Stories".

Turns out myBMI is offering €250 in store credit if you submit your weight loss journey to them with two photos. They say they'll ask for your permission before sharing the content externally (does that mean on their own website too or....?).

No telling if agreeing to that is a requirement to get the €250, and their Content License Agreement is so littered with errors ("The Payment shall be made via bank transfer to the Creator’s designated account..." 🙄) I don't know what to think.

But I do know that €250 might make a big difference to someone not sure if they can continue their journey financially, and might be happy to share their story (I think you should personally hold out for more than €250 in store credit....). And honestly, I think people share this stuff for free with them all the time anyway so might as well get paid for it? 🤷‍♀️

Okay, so before I talk myself out of it, I thought I'd bring it to everyone's attention in case you hadn't seen it....

Still 5kg from goal, but looking back helps...

15 months later...

I recently commented on someone’s post about being stalled and stuck in a plateau and I've really been doing some introspection since.

I’m about 4kg / 10lbs from my goal weight, which would put me around the middle of the “normal” BMI range, but for the last nearly 4 months I’ve mostly been bouncing around the same 1-2kg right at the top of the normal range. Up, down, up, down. Very un-glamorous. Very annoying. 👿

Some of that is probably because I’m old(er), but I think a lot of it is also because I’m quite short at 157cm / 5’2”. There just isn’t much room in restricting calories between a BMI of 22 and 25 when you’re short. It’s only about a stone, so every little fluctuation feels weirdly dramatic.

I said on that other post that the only things really hurting at this point are my pride and my wallet, and I’ve been trying to focus more on NSVs to keep myself motivated.

Like probably a lot of us, I avoided photos as much as possible before starting, so I don’t have many “before” pictures. The only one I could actually find was one I had to submit to myBMI at the start! So I decided to take some new photos and actually remind myself how far I’ve come, even if I haven’t quite hit goal yet.

This is the difference 15 months on Mounjaro has made for me.

For me, Mounjaro has genuinely been the best investment I’ve ever made in myself. I also feel like it fixed something that was broken inside me. I finally understand how “normal” people must feel around food. Feeling full, actually satiated and satisfied, and not constantly feeling starving, wondering if I'll get enough to eat and negotiating with food noise in my head has been life-changing.

I’d love to say that feeling is priceless, but my wallet has very firmly reminded me that it is, in fact, not priceless. 😆💸

I do think I’ll probably be on Mounjaro for life (or some hopefully cheaper generic GLP-1 in the future). I’d love to eventually titrate down to 2.5mg for the cost savings, but I think that’s still a little way off for me.

So if you’re stalled, plateauing, frustrated, or feeling like the scales are being personally rude to you, I do get it. I’m right there too. 👍 But sometimes it really does help to look back at where you started and give yourself a bit of credit.

Even when goal feels stubbornly close but not quite close enough. Stay strong. 💪

Big Meditrue invoice breakdown update: consultation vs medication fees 💸

Meditrue has been one of the newest prescribers on the scene in Ireland and has really shaken things up from a pricing perspective (shout out Monj.ie of course😆), and from the feedback we’ve seen so far, service too.

One of the most common questions has been:

How do Meditrue break down their invoices between the consultation/prescribing fee and the medication fee?

This is a big one for anyone comparing providers, especially those of us who use Private Health Insurance to claim back all or part of the consultation/prescribing fee.

I’ve now had confirmation that Meditrue invoices will include the prescribing clinician’s name and registration details, which should make them much more usable for health insurance claims where your plan allows reimbursement for "Everyday" expenses.

Important caveat, as always: your insurer and your specific plan make the final decision. This does not guarantee reimbursement. But having the clinician name and registration and breakdown is what VHI, Irish Life Health and Laya state they need to reimburse...

And yes, I said Laya. This may possibly help with Laya too, since one of the recurring issues has been invoices being treated as “weight loss clinic” charges rather than consultation fees. No promises, but… tiny cautiously-optimistic calculator noises. 🧮

It would be incredibly helpful if anyone currently using Meditrue and already planning to submit to their insurance could report back with the outcome, especially for VHI, Irish Life Health, and Laya.

Here is the current Meditrue breakdown by strength:

Dose Consultation / Prescribing Fee Medication Fee Shipping Total
2.5mg £72.50 £112.50 £9 £194
5mg £94 £115 £9 £218
7.5mg £141.50 £117.50 £9 £268
10mg £159 £120 £9 £288
12.5mg £176.50 £122.50 £9 £308
15mg £190 £125 £9 £324

A reminder that Meditrue is currently Dublin delivery only in ROI, but they have advised they are moving to all-Ireland delivery with DPD overnight from 17 July.

As always:

  • Check your own PHI plan wording!
  • Remember Meditrue are Northern Ireland, so when submitting remember to select "provider located outside Ireland" or whatever your claim process is
  • Even though it says "Consultation" it's not likely to be accepted as being performed by a "Consultant"
  • Keep your receipts for Revenue medical expenses too!
  • Please report back if your insurer accepts or rejects it, especially VHI, Irish Life Health, and Laya

myBMI - new Qs on Consults and Wegovy tablets option

Just did my latest consultation with myBMI and noticed they've changed up the consultation a bit. Some interesting options they've added. I don't even know what some of those medications are!

I've also seen they have a "coming soon" on the Wegovy tablets option. I wonder what the cost it going to be? It was always my hope when I got to goal and titrated down I might be able to move over to a cheaper tablet form (not that I mind injecting at all these days, but...).

What scales do you use? Show us!

Hey Ireland Mounjaro community! 👋 Tell us, what scales are you using?

For me, I have a very small bathroom, and didn't want a set of scales sitting out on display anyway (another thing to clean!). The week I started my Mounjaro journey (almost a year and a half ago) I found this little set of "travel scales" from Renpho.

I was really impressed with the quality, and the app is really good. I got a helpful hint that they fit in a padded tablet/laptop case, so I zip them up when done and stash them away in my closet. I only weigh once a week, so it's not too much work.

So what's everyone else using? 💚☘️

📢 Mod Update: NEW Mounjaro Pen Design Tracker (ROI and IE only)

As many of you will have seen, Eli Lilly has begun rolling out a revised version of the Mounjaro KwikPen globally in April 2026. As of June 2026, we have now received multiple verified reports of the new style pen being dispensed in both Ireland and Northern Ireland.

This thread will act as our central tracking point for confirmed sightings, lot numbers, expiry dates, and pharmacies dispensing the revised pens.

👉From this point forward, new posts reporting sightings of the revised pen will need to be removed and redirected here so that all information remains in one place.

What's Changing and What's Not Changing?

  • The medication or dosing tiers themselves are not changing
  • The prescribed dose remains exactly the same
  • Pens still contain 4 full doses (of 0.6ml)
  • There will still be plenty to prime the pen before each dose
  • The total liquid volume in each pen is being reduced (from 3.2mL to 2.6mL).
  • The easiest way to identify a revised pen is the much thicker black stopper inside the pen, and a new revised box

How To Submit A Report

If you have received a new style KwikPen please contribute! Just comment below or send a modmail with:

  • A photo of the pen with the cap removed
  • Pharmacy/provider name
  • Pen strength
  • Date ordered or received
  • Expiry date
  • Lot number

Once verified, we will update the table above.

Thank you!

(and personally.... BOOOOOOOOOOOO on Eli Lilly! 😭😭😭)

2 Year old Russian Blue - Biscuits (and air biscuits!)

My 2 year old Russian Blue (male, neutered) has just recently really been on a kick with making biscuits - including sucking the blanket! It's not limited to just this one blanket, either.

(He'll roll over and hit air biscuit stage at around 0:17).

I got him from a small breeder (just one pair of registered Blues they breed occasionally) when he was about 5 months old. He stayed with his mum the whole time before I brought him home. He’s not show quality because he has a cute little dark spot on his flank, so he ended up being older than the typical kitten before someone took him home. Lucky me, honestly.

They don't seem to be sin/spicy biscuits either. He purrs loudly when doing it. I'm not really concerned, just puzzled by this behaviour that's cropped up in the last few months when nothing else in his habits or home environment changed.

Not worried, mostly just fascinated and curious if anyone else with an adult Russian Blue has seen a sudden resurgence of biscuit-making later in life 🩶

The new Monj.ie site is now live! (filters! sorting! £ to € conversions! more!!)

🚨 The newly revised Monj.ie site is now LIVE 🚨

I made my Friday deadline (just barely) and I’m so happy to say it’s launched!

(Maybe Mounjaro is making me very boring on Friday nights just so I’ll work on it…)

New bits include:
• Filtering by region, delivery type & service
• Sort by price low → high (and high → low for the “can you believe pharmacies are charging that!?” moments)
• Automatic GBP → EUR conversion using a live exchange rate (irrationally proud of this)
• Cleaner pricing tables
• Better mobile layout
• More provider/service information, plus direct links in provider names
• Much less “giant spreadsheet energy” overall

The mobile version is much improved and now uses a provider card-style layout that’s much easier to browse on your phone.

But honestly… I still think the desktop/table version is the best way to compare prices properly, especially if you’re trying to sort costs side-by-side across doses and providers.

I’ve also quietly started building out (coming soon 👀):
• Full-service provider information cards/pages with oodles more detail
• A dedicated page just for online GP/prescribing services
• More detailed maintenance policy comparisons for those of you who are now “goalies” 🏆😆
• Maybeeeee a page about that certain new triple agonist medication that just passed clinical trials and is looming on the horizon…

HUGE THANK YOU to my beta testers this week, and to everyone who has supported the site, submitted updates, spotted errors, or sent pharmacy info over to help the community 💚

Monj.ie has always been a passion project about making access to Mounjaro less opaque and helping people make informed decisions around care and cost.

Still more work to go on it, but if anyone spots bugs, weirdness, broken buttons, or pharmacies suddenly teleporting to the wrong county, please let me know (I've already just found a weirdness with the currency conversion button on mobile, but that's tomorrow's problem...). 😅

Sneak peek: Monj.ie is getting a (long overdue) refresher! 👀

I can't ever seem to stop working on a million things at once, but I'm really excited to FINALLY announce I’ve been working on a long overdue redesigned version of Monj.ie, and.... it’s nearly ready to go live!!!

A big thank you as well to everyone who’s supported Monj.ie through Buy Me A Coffee ☕💚
With the number of people who’ve told me they’ve saved a decent amount using the site, I've actually covered the hosting + domain costs for 2026, so....

So instead of letting that sit idle, I’ve put the extra back into improving the site and functionality.

✨ The new version brings in some of the most requested features:
• Filtering by region, delivery type, and service
• Sorting (including price low → high 👀)
• GBP → EUR auto conversion so you can compare like-for-like
• Clear “what’s included” labels (e.g. consult + prescription vs bring-your-own Rx)
• Shipping vs collection info surfaced properly (no more guessing or digging)
• Service notes and real-world context
• A much cleaner, easier-to-scan pricing table overall (especially on mobile)

Before I fully switch it over, I’d love a few people to test it this week and tell me what’s confusing, broken, or just mildly annoying.

If you commonly review pricing and would have a few minutes to spare for having a poke around and telling me where to go, er... giving me feedback, please send me a DM or modmail and I'll send you a link tomorrow! Please note it's not finished yet - but it's in a good enough shape to be able to test functionality.

Really appreciate everyone continuing to contribute, share updates and experiences 🙌

Bit of a (not done!) sneak peek below!! 👇
