Ravens - do not feed the birds. I’ve created a monster! “fark, fark…..”

"Fark, fark..." I live in Melbourne’s bayside. A couple of ravens live in the area, and can often be seen swooping across the rooftops and perching on a wall near my house.

So 4 or 5 times, while working from home, I started tossing them an apple core or a couple of grapes, on to the garage roof outside my study window. They would swoop down and happily enjoy, calling “fark, fark”.  It was a pleasant diversion from work and meetings.

The one day, everything changed. Old Mate Raven was annoyed I hadn't fed him. So he started flying into my window, “FARK, FARK, FARK” (“feed me, human”). Bang, bang!!  I was worried he’d shatter the window. The next day, the same. And the next day.

“You have to stop feeding it!” said everyone. I haven't fed it for ages!! Literally weeks have passed, no food from me - but Old Mate has a LONG memory. Every day, bang! bang! as he flies into my window, trying to get me to open it and feed him.

I kind of admire their tenacity - and they're clearly very intelligent birds; he knows exactly which house and which window to target.

Anyone had any similar experiences? Anyone know how to make Old Mate Raven stop attacking my window and demanding food? Please?

Tool interview I remember reading in the late 1990s, talking about their views on other bands and music

Anyone know or remember this interview, in a music magazine at the time.

I remember them talking about what they thought about other bands and music, including the comment that they really liked Metallica's 'Battery' (which I guess makes sense; has a tricky time signature etc, can see why that would appreciate that one).

Just interested to know what other bands and music they appreciated at that time.

I'm literally sitting here with my mouth open in horror.

For example, when talking about her husband: "I earn in a month what he makes in a year...."

I seriously think Qantas WANTS to pay money to Travel Agents, rather than have us all book direct online.

I am about to pay a very large amount of money to Qantas for international flight bookings, but their website simply won't allow me to proceed past the 'Passenger details' screen. Driving me insane!

And I'm an IT professional and yes, there are no input errors, all data matches up, no errors coming up on the page - yet I simply cannot proceed any further, past the 'Passenger details' screen - it just reloads, reloads and reloads, and the next screen for confirmation, payment etc does not appear.

I mean, what the hell?
