[HIRING] Pixel Artist for Indie Horror Game — Background + Hand Animations

Hey everyone, I'm an indie developer looking for a pixel artist for a small 2d horror project.

The scene is simple but needs to feel genuinely unsettling — two pale human hands trapped in a mechanical mechanism where one wrong move results in a finger getting cut. Top-down overhead view, dark and atmospheric.

What I need:

Background — 1 scene:

  • Dark industrial metal surface with rivets, scratches and blood stains
  • Single hanging light bulb at the top center casting dramatic warm light
  • Two pale hands lying flat, fingers spread, each finger sitting on a circular glowing button
  • Each finger has a unique mechanical ring around it with a different cutting mechanism
  • Wires connecting everything to a central control box at the bottom
  • Thumbs rest naturally on the surface with no button or ring

Buttons — 3 sprites:

  • Off state
  • Yellow glow state
  • Red glow state
  • Same button reused for all 8 fingers

Fingers — 12 sprites:

  • 4 unique fingers × 3 states each
  • Pressed down on button
  • Lifted and released
  • Cut state(over all 4 different ways of removing a finger i have in mind),
  • Mirrored in engine for the other hand

Thumbs — 2 sprites:

  • Resting naturally on surface
  • No button, no ring, no cut animation

Total deliverables: 1 background scene, 3 button sprites, 12 finger sprites, 2 thumb sprites.

Style: Dark pixel art, steampunk horror, muted teal and rust tones. Think White Knuckle meets industrial horror.

Scope: Very small focused asset list. One main scene. This won't take long for the right person.

Budget: Maximum €200.

Timeline: Flexible. Looking for the right person, not the fastest.
