A game 3D Character

I made this complete character end-to-end. It took me a couple of months to make this (I worked in the evenings) since it was a portfolio projects.

Sculpted in Zbrush, Textured in Substance Painter and Rigged in Blender. My teammate helped me animate it.

[PAID] Looking for a Stylized Character Designer / 3D Character Artist Long-Term Collaboration

[PAID] Looking for a 3D Character Designer — Original Stylized Character

Hi!

I’m looking for a talented 3D character designer to create an original stylized character for a project I’m working on.

I’m looking for someone who is especially good at:

  • Original character design
  • Cute/stylized 3D characters
  • Expressive faces and personality
  • Strong, recognizable character designs
  • Creating something unique rather than generic

The design itself is the priority. Rigging and animation are not required.

The character will be used commercially, so I need commercial usage rights for the final approved character/design.

This is paid work, and if we work well together, there may be more character design work in the future.

If you’re interested, please send:

  • Your portfolio
  • Examples of original 3D characters you’ve designed
  • Your approximate price/rate
  • Your availability

Please no AI-generated portfolios or AI-generated character designs.

DM or comment below.

Thanks!

Anyone looking for background music for their indie game?

There are some game soundtracks that just resonate and leave a lasting impression. (personal examples: Super Mario N64. Phantasy Star Online. Some Final Fantasy soundtracks--- and many others haha)

Over the last few years, I've been compiling some instrumental recordings with a "Rhodes" piano. The overall vibe tends to lean on the side of chill/ electronic/ ambient/ mellow etc.

Just throwing these instrumentals out there to see if there are any developers that resonate and want to collaborate!

My motivation is more experiential than financial, so for projects that don't have a big budget, I'd be honored to help supply some music!

(I've attached a playlist of 114 tracks (ranging from 20 seconds to 5 minutes or so))

If anyone resonates with the general vibe, feel free to email me some project details at dntst.info@gmail.com and we can see if the stars align! :p

Cheers, and happy game developing!

[PAID] Looking for a 2D environment illustration artist

Hello, I'm an indie game developer and I'm looking for a 2D environment illustration artist for a game project. No AI use for any commission.

I would need 8 illustrations of cities and natural landscapes, all of them having a "fantasy" style. League of Legends' cities and regions artworks (Demacia, Noxus, Zaun etc) are a good example of the style I'm looking for, althought not as high in quality of course. As for the natural landscapes, typical fantasy forests, mountains, with magic elements etc.

Please, only message me if you have several fantasy illustrations of cities/landscapes in your portfolio. This excludes realistic modern city illustrations, I'm not looking for that style.

If you don't have what I described in your portfolio, I'll consider that you didn't take the time to read the post so I won't take the time to answer you, sorry. And do not tell me "I've never made it but let me prove you that I can by making a test commission" either, please.

As for the game itself, it'll be an online PVP game, with a gameplay similar to Final Fantasy Tactics but with unique heroes to play, like in MOBAs.

If you're interested in working on the project with me, don't hesitate to PM me and we'll discuss the details more. Thank you for your time!

[HIRING] 3D Character Animator / Generalist — Blender + Unreal Engine 5

[PAID] 3D Character Animator / Generalist — Blender + Unreal Engine 5

I'm looking for a 3D Character Animator / Generalist to help with character and first-person animation work for an anime-inspired card game prototype being developed in Unreal Engine 5.

The project focuses heavily on making the player feel like an actual duelist, so hands, fingers, cards, body language and interaction with a wearable card device are a major part of the experience.

Initial paid test

For the first milestone, I need help creating/refining a small set of animations using an existing rigged character/hand model:

  • First-person pose holding 5 trading cards in a fan
  • First-person Draw Card animation
  • First-person Reach / Select Card animation
  • First-person Grab Card animation
  • Natural finger posing and card grip
  • Basic transition back to an idle/ready pose

References and existing models/rigs will be provided.

What I'm looking for

Strong experience with:

  • Blender or Maya
  • Character animation
  • Rigging / skinning
  • Hand and finger animation
  • Body mechanics
  • Working with props
  • Clean FBX/game-ready export workflow

Experience with Unreal Engine 5 is highly appreciated, especially:

  • Animation Blueprints
  • Animation Montages
  • IK / Control Rig
  • Retargeting
  • First-person animation

However, deep Unreal knowledge is not mandatory if you're strong in character animation and can deliver clean game-ready assets.

Animation style

The direction is anime-inspired and expressive, but still grounded enough to work well in first-person gameplay.

Examples of the type of motion I'm looking for:

  • confident card draws;
  • dramatic but readable hand gestures;
  • expressive finger movement;
  • physically believable card handling;
  • duelist poses;
  • interaction with cards and a wearable Duel Disk-style device.

The challenge is not simply making an animation look good from a cinematic camera — it needs to feel good from the player's first-person perspective.

Important

I already have the gameplay prototype running in Unreal Engine.

I'm specifically looking for help improving the visual/animation quality and building a reusable animation pipeline, rather than someone to program the game itself.

The long-term goal is to establish reusable standards for:

  • first-person hand animations;
  • third-person duelist animations;
  • card handling;
  • Duel Disk interaction;
  • character gestures;
  • summon/activation animations;
  • character rigs;
  • eventually creature/monster animations.

Workflow

I'd prefer to start with a small paid milestone rather than immediately committing to a large package.

The first test would be:

  1. Hold Cards pose
  2. Draw Card animation
  3. Reach / Grab Card animation

If the collaboration works well, there is potentially a significant amount of ongoing character, creature and gameplay animation work.

When applying

Please send:

  • portfolio / animation reel;
  • examples of character animation;
  • examples involving hands, props or first-person animation if available;
  • software you primarily use;
  • whether you have experience with Unreal Engine;
  • your rate or expected price for the initial test.

I'm much more interested in seeing good character movement, posing and animation fundamentals than a specific job title.

Remote freelance work.

[PAID] Looking to hire a 3D prop artist to create stylized typewriters

Hello, I'm a solo developer building a first-person game that prominently features typewriters. They are essentially the focus of the entire game. I tried looking on various marketplaces for a model, but I couldn't find anything I like or that was built to animate.

Ultimately, I'd like several vintage manual typewriters, but I'll probably begin with just one for the demo I'd like to build. Specifically, I'd like the first typewriter to be a stylized (not photoreal) version of the Olivetti Lettera 32.

I don't need rigs or animations. All I need is for every key (~50) to have its own named transform, for the carriage assembly to be separate so it can slide, for the platen to be separate so it can roll, and the ribbon spools to be separate so they can spin.

The deliverable is the FBX plus source files for Unity, with textures up to 2K. My budget for this is $200–400.

If this work interests you, you can send me a DM with a portfolio of your work and a rough quote and I'll get back to you as quickly as possible.

Best,
philosophicalwax44
