Simple colonist AI: picks up wheat → walks to windmill → makes flour
Hey everyone,
Quick clip of one of the systems I’m working on:
A colonist picks up wheat, carries it to the windmill, and turns it into flour.

I've just finished the new trailer for WildRoot, my solo-developed cozy colony sim.
WildRoot is about building a small colony in a mysterious forest, managing your colonists, farming, gathering resources, building your settlement, and dealing with unexpected events.
This is the third trailer, and it represents how the game currently looks and plays.

I'd really like some honest feedback:
Does the trailer make it clear what the game is about? And does the gameplay look interesting enough to make you want to play it?
Any criticism is welcome.
I've been working on improving WildRoot's first impression and recently finished a new trailer.
It's a cozy colony sim where you build a settlement in a mysterious forest, manage your colonists, and every season and setback creates a different story.
I'd really appreciate any feedback—especially on the pacing, music, and whether the trailer makes you want to learn more about the game.
I've been working on the atmosphere in WildRoot, and I finally got the rain feeling closer to what I imagined.
I'm aiming for a cozy but gloomy forest where even a few seconds of rainfall changes the mood of the whole colony.
Here's a short 5-second clip. I'd love to know your first impression—does it feel cozy, gloomy, or both?
Hey guys, I'm making a cozy colony sim called WildRoot.
Recently I've been working on the tutorial for players who have never played a colony sim before. I thought it would be a quick task, but it's turning out to be much more time-consuming than expected.
Here's a video of the tutorial so far.
Do you think I'm going in the right direction? How much hand-holding do you expect from a colony sim tutorial before it starts feeling annoying?
After years of working on my solo indie game, I finally released the Steam demo for WildRoot.
WildRoot is a cozy colony builder where your settlers don't just work—they form relationships, help each other, and create their own stories as the settlement grows.
Seeing the Steam page finally go live feels pretty unreal after such a long journey.
I'd love some honest feedback on the visuals, gameplay direction, or Steam page presentation. The demo is available now if you'd like to try it.
Thanks for taking a look!
I've been working on a cozy colony sim called WildRoot. It's inspired by colony management and base-building games, with a focus on building a settlement, farming, crafting, and managing colonists.
Been working on my game WildRoot for a while.
It’s a cozy colony sim focused more on relaxing loops than stress.
Would really appreciate feedback on the trailer 🙏
Been working on this for a while (WildRoot).
Trying to make it feel more relaxing than stressful—still figuring out the balance.
