anybody know why my fig tree sometimes looks like a skinny leaf version? previous owners cut this tree down and it’s just growing back.

found in eastern TN next to a small herb garden with nothing except baby dills and a spice bush sapling. found all of them on the ground. kinda smells like lemon. was able to cut through with my nail
