My mother wants to replace her PC (300€ budget): Chromebook or Windows for emails/office work/streaming + a bit of 3D?

Hello everyone,

My mother wants to replace her computer because her current PC has become extremely slow.

I’ve never used a Chromebook before, but after doing some research, it seems like it could fit her needs pretty well.

She mainly uses her computer for:

  • emails
  • office work
  • web browsing
  • video streaming

So in theory, all of that should work perfectly fine on ChromeOS.

She also says she’d like to make some 3D plans/designs, but honestly I think simple apps or web-based tools would probably be enough for her needs. She won’t be using heavy software like Blender or anything similar.

The main issue is the budget: around €300.
I’m worried that at this price point, Windows laptops might end up being slow or low quality.

So I have a few questions:

  • Is ChromeOS easy to adapt to for someone who isn’t very tech-savvy?
  • Is it practical and easy to use on a daily basis?
  • Would a Chromebook be a good choice in this situation?
  • With a budget of around €300, what computer would you recommend?

Thanks in advance 🙂
