I am aware that Mary I was devoutly Catholic and close to Catherine of Aragon, even defying Henry VIII multiple times for her mother’s sake.
I am interested in Mary I viewed the Catholic Monarchs, especially whether she modelled any aspects of her reign on her grandmother, Isabella of Castile’s example.

I am also keen to know if she corresponded and/or met any of her maternal relatives, apart from Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor and Philip II of Spain? Please let me know, thank you!
