Hi guys,

Three days ago I went to my local gardening center. Originally I wanted to buy a gift for my sister but I couldn’t walk past this thai monstera and ending up buying it for myself (and a gift for my sister as well of cause)

And here I am, a total plant rookie. I did some research and the internet but more questions appear than was answered. Obviously I need some advice on how to make it cozy for this plant and give it the best surroundings.

some questions that came to my mind:

1. should I repot it immediately or wait a few more days to let it acclimatize.
2. in case of repotting: what kind of substrate? And is repotting to a bigger pot necessary?
3. should I get a moss pole or any other kind of pole already?
4. Is the location right at the window suitable?
5. what is a good watering routine?

Ich habe vor ca. einem Jahr von meiner Schwester einen Ableger von ihrer Monstera bekommen. Damals bestand diese nur aus den drei unteren Blättern. Es gab keinen sichtbaren Haupttrieb und die vorhanden Blätter gingen nach außen. Vor ein paar Wochen habe ich einen Moosstab besorgt aber nie benutzt, weil ich nicht genau wusste, ob ich den Haupttrieb und die Blätter oder Stiele da anbinden soll.

Mittlerweile weiß ich durch Recherche, dass eine Monstera eigentlich ein grobes Substrat braucht und kleinere Töpfe lieber mag. Sollte ich also vielleicht in einen kleineren Topf umtopfen? Macht man das überhaupt?

Als letztes fehlen irgendwie die Fenster in den Blättern. Das neueste Blatt (groß, mittig) hat auch wieder nur zwei Schlitze. Für mich ein Zeichen, dass sie sich nicht 100 prozentig wohlfühlt.

Sollte ich etwas was machen oder bin ich mal wieder zu ungeduldig bzw. sehe ich das alles zu negativ 😁
