What should be at the beginning of every Japsterdam Athletic Football Club's post?

As promised, for every season I post, I would make a poll and I would choose the one with the most votes and I would put it at the beginning of every post about the club, starting with season 7 (the nicknames will start to be used in the season 6 post)

Now, it's a small phrase at the beninging of every post for the club, it has to a small phrase, no bigger than abt 7 words, that would be encouraging and that would be centered around the club! Sort of like a chant the fans would sing to get behind the team.

As always, if you guys have a suggestion, you are more than welcome to post it in the comments and I would credit you guys for your amazing work! :)

In the case of a draw between multiple top propositions, I will use all of them interchangeably

Japsterdam Athletic's Road to Glory Season 5: We tried so hard... And got so far...

After a humiliating exit to the promotion play-offs last season at the hands of AFC Fylde where we lost 4-0, the Japsterdam Athletic faithfuls head into our 5th season with the club with high hopes and with loads of optimism as we're now getting considered as serious contenders for promotion to the 5th division of England from the National League North (the English 6th tier).

But before we begin, let's take this time to introduce our sponsors! Raid Shadow Leg-, I mean, let's talk about our cup runs; in the FA Trophy, the draws were once again, unfavourable to Japsterdam Athletic, as we were drawn with Altrincham, a team in the 5th tier of England, who unsurprisingly edged us out 1-0 :(

We did a bit better in the FA Cup; in the 1st round, we got drawn Truro City (who I'm pretty sure play in the National League South, in the same tier as us). We beat them with ease with a 3-1 score. Then, it was Hartlepool United in the 2nd round, who were a tier above us. Unfortunately, this is where our run ends as they defeated us 2-0 :/

Anyways, the high hopes were fulfilled early into the season as the club manage to get a record 7 wins in a row in the league out of our first 7 fixtures :)). And the teams we beat weren't nobodies either as we defeated Kidderminster Harriers and Scarborough Athletic, two major contenders to finish in the play offs. We were sat on top of the league! :))) albeit, only by goal difference.

However, our form started to dip following the FA Trophy exit with a draw against Scunthorpe United, a loss against eventual champions Boston United, and an uninspiring 2-2 draw against relegation contenders Marine. :(

From then on, injuries to our most important players, whose bones were made out of Limp Bizkits, started to negatively affect our performances. We never recovered from them, even though we still won the majority of our games, Japsterdam Athletic still had a few unconvincing matches, including a 2-1 loss to newly promoted Gloucester City and a 4-1 battering at the hands of Kidderminster Harriers.

Despite a few bad performances from time to time, we still finished 3rd, tying our club record for the most points with 87, behind Scunthorpe and Boston. We then get automatic qualification to the semi-final of the promotion play-off, and were just 2 matches away from promotion to the National League, the 5th tier.

We now have the task of beating King Von (King's Lynn) Town at home with a crowd of over 4000 fans. Fortunately, the match began well for us when one of our top strikers R.Robins opened the scoring for Japsterdam Athletic with just 20 minutes played. However, King's Lynn Town found an equaliser in the second half and extra-time was looming.

Almost 30 minutes of extra-time played and no one seemed to find the winner until, our GOAT-better-than-Messi-Lewandowski-Zidane-Maldini-Gerrard-and-Ronaldo combined striker R.Robins struck a sweet, sweet shot in the back of the net in the 120th minute, guaranteeing us our first appearance in the final, just 1 match away from promotion :)

Now, only Scunthorpe stands in our dream of achieving promotion, a team who, despite having a stronger squad than us, has been beaten by us 3-1 last season.

Unfortunately, it was just one of those days where our attack, midfield and defense were overwhelmed by Scunthorpe, who found the net early on in the first half, before finding the net twice in the second half to beat us 3-0 :((( Our promotion hopes were shattered yet again...

As a certain man with frosted tips once said: "I tried so hard, and got so far, but in the end, it doesn't even matter..."

I'm still somewhat happy we got this far but I'm absolutely gutted we didn't win against Scunthorpe to secure promotion on the last day of our season... We have to hope to acheive our goals somehow next season... :(((((

Anyways, now, I just want to highlight our top performers who were Greenidge, who's making an absolute name for himself, scoring a club record 22 goals in a season with an average performance of 9.5 out of 10. R.Robins also achieved a similar average performance. Other notable names include our CAM captain Haughton who's got an average performance of 9.4 and our growing superstar midfielder Cartwright with an average performance of 8.1. Speaking of growing superstars, look out for our academy-grown defender Unzurrunzaga (what a name!) who could become the next big defender for the club.

Lastly, I want to end of the report of the 2029-30 season with all the transfers I made, most notably, the departure of club legend Lodovica who left for 13k pounds to Hornchurch, he will forever be remembered as the one whos been with the club since the first season, helping us win the 7th tier and stay in the 6th tier, before his influence declined at the club with new arrivals. Some big recruits I made were Killick at CB for a free and Kelly at LB also on a free to strengthen the defensive line. :)))

What should be Japsterdam Athletic Football Club's nickname?

(This will be the last post i make abt this club today).

To create a bit more of an identity (i dont rly know how to put it) for Japsterdam Athletic, every time i make a post about a season, I will make a poll so you guys (the Japsterdam fans) could vote on to decide a characteristic about the club (for example: a new club crest, a new item/object that will be related to our club, etc.).

This time, it is a club nickname, you guys can choose between a few options and i will pick the 2 with the most votes as our nickname and i will start using it.

If any of you have a good suggestion for our nickname, you are more than welcome to post it in the comments, if any of them is rly good, then i ll start using it (and i will also credit the one who proposed the name).

Btw, the Japsterdamian army has no connection to politics/the military, it is simply a nickname, similar to Boreham Wood's "Wood Army".

Also, I might remove the Zelligs as our nickname and will prob be the Ongezelligs from now on bc Im pretty sure the word "Zellig" comes from the 4chan/sharty part of the show's fandom, and it's defo not the best people over there.

Japsterdam Athletic's Road to glory Season 4: Heading for the promotion playoffs!

(Im reposting this series on the r/zellig community and im deleting my post on r/ongezellig bc i've heard some bad things abt the moderator over there. If ur seeing this for the second time, it's not an accident)

The journey continues yet again for Japsterdam Athletic as we were able to finish in the top 4 for the first time in our club's history with a club-record 87 points! We're finally being seen as a serious contender fighting for the promotion to the 5th tier of English football! The top 4 finish also meant that we qualified to the promotion play-offs for the National League (5th tier) for the first time in the club's history! :)))))

The hopes of the Japsterdamian faithfuls were at an all-time high coming into this great opportunity for promotion. However, we had to face Scunthorpe United, an opponent far superior to us (a 62-rated squad compared to our 56-rated squad).

Despite the disparity in quality, we found the net 3 times before Scunthorpe found a consolation goal late into the game, as we caused a 3-1 upset in the quarter-final of the play-offs! Amazing stuff from the lads :)))

After an unlikely victory, we headed into the semi-final where we face AFC Fylde, who finished just 2 points shy of the top of the table and who demolished us 5-0 (Japsterdam Athletic's heaviest defeat) 2 seasons ago, so we were going into this match as underdogs again.

Unfortunately, our defense crumbled faster than a Limp Bizkit made out of Korn, as we concede 4 to them without scoring once. AFC Fylde seem to be our kryptonite once more as our hopes for promotion were utterly shattered. :((( I'm still really happy that our team got this far tho lol

If anybody was wondering about the cups, the draws weren't really kind to us this season when we faced Macclesfield FC in the FA Trophy (the blue cup), a team a division above us, and we did put up a good fight against them by bringing them to penalties with a 2-2 scoreline. We lost 4-3 in the penalty shootout tho.

Then, in the FA Cup (the red tournament), we played against Sutton United, who were in the same division as Macclesfield. We lost to them 4-1 so we better hope for a better draw next season :/

Finally, we broke a lot of club records this season as we signed a 57-rated striker called Greenidge for a club-record fee of 75,000 pounds and R.Robins scored a record 21 goals in a season, completely destroying J.White old record of 14 goals.

(Also, I apologise for not having enough images bc I forgot to take screenshots of the squad :/)

Japsterdam Athletic's Road to glory Season 3: Fulfulling the club's ambitions!

(Im reposting this series on the r/zellig community and im deleting my post on r/ongezellig bc i've heard some bad things abt the moderator over there. If ur seeing this for the second time, it's not an accident)

the story continues for the mighty Japsterdam Athletic as we head into the 2027/28 season with a club-record best position with a 9th place finish (as opposed to our 17th place finish last season) with a club-record 73 points in a single season (1st image) , just missing out on the play-offs for promotion to the 5th tier by a measly 5 points :((((( We still smashed our targets to finish mid-table lol

However, I did make a lot of incredible signings to strengthen our squad such as Robins in centre-forward, Sass-Davies in centre-back, and a promising youngster named Cartwright in midfield (who we signed for a club-record fee of 55,000 pounds). We will be aiming for the play-offs next season with these players :)

Our top performers seem to be our centre-forward Lodovica with an average rating of 9.1, our central-attacking-midfielder Murphy with an average rating of 9.02 and 10 assists, our belgian (mymy not approved) left-back Lawson with an average rating of 7.92, and our striker White with a club-record 14 goals in a season.

I did also expand our iconic Nookie Cookie Ground (Bisc Limpkit?) by 1000 seats, giving it a new stand and a capacity of 5000 people. T.Miller is our GOAT manager whos been here since day 1. We're doing fine on finances and we broke another club record this season with our biggest win, a 5-0 thrashing of Merthyr Town :) Amazing stuff! :)))))

Also, in this game, The Netherlands lost 2-0 to France in the Euros final, so Mymy is holding the entire dutch squad hostage. 1 upvote = 1 prayer for them 🙏 (yes, Im doing the Youtube strategy to get karma on my post)

Japsterdam Athletic's road to glory season 2: WE ARE HERE TO STAYYYY!!!

(Im reposting this series on the r/zellig community and im deleting my post on r/ongezellig bc i've heard some bad things abt the moderator over there. If ur seeing this for the second time, it's not an accident)

The journey continues for Japsterdam Athletic in the second season and Im glad to say that we managed to survive relegation! After being promoted to the 6th tier of England, we survived the fall by finishing 17th in the 2nd season (unfortunately i have no screenshot of it but u guys can trust me on that right?) so WE RE HERE TO STAYYY!!! (korn reference)

So those are fantastic news for japsterdam athletic as we're aiming to finish about mid table (around 10th to 16th out of 24 teams) next season and we are doing a pretty good job at reaching that goal bc in the 4th image of this post, we can be seen at 10th place about midway trough the 3rd season.

About our finances, we are doing fine on them, I mean, its not like the club is in financial turmoil or anything lol

Anyways, I've also made some key signings for players in this squad (on image 2) with players such as Lodovica in CF, Burgess in midfield, Murphy in CAM as well S.German, Bonser and Lawson (whos belgian btw) in the squad. Hopefully, they should make us reach our goals

If u guys want me to restart in the dutch league, then let me know

Anyways, I just want to add some extra info so our chairman and owner (me in this game) is called John Otto Bizkit Allison-Burgers (wonderful name ik), our stadium (on picture 1 and 3) has a capacity of 4000 spectators and is called the Nookie Cookie Ground (rolls off the tongue). Our home kit is orange (to represent Mymy) and red (to represent Maya), our club crest is those colors for those reasons (but if anybody wants to draw another club crest, they are more than welcome to comment it), and our away kit is a blonde-like colour (to represent Coco).

To conclude, our manager is T.Miller (picture 1) who gave us promotion 2 seasons back and who has been here since the start. Our top goal scorer in a season is A.Yearwood, a CAM with 13 goals (image 5), he is also our most expensive transfer, coming in the club for a jaw-dropping 49k pounds and our record sale is right-winger Gaviria, who left after being on loan for 55k pounds. Fantastic! :)))

Japsterdam Athletic's Road to Glory Season 1: A new club born from the ashes rises as champions

(Im reposting this series on the r/zellig community and im deleting my post on r/ongezellig bc i've heard some bad things abt the moderator over there. If ur seeing this for the second time, it's not an accident)

Im starting a series called japsterdam athletic's road to glory where i manage a made up football club called japsterdam athletic and (hopefully) taking them to glory

in the first season, we won the 7th tier of england by finishing 1st with 61 points and only 1st by goal difference so we re CHAMPIONS!!! WE ARE GOING UP SAY WE ARE GOING UP!!!

we re currently battling relegation in the national league north, the 6th tier of england so hopefully, we survive the drop back to the 7th tier to stay in the league

ik i shouldve started in the netherlands but i chose to start in england cuz theres 7 tiers there while the netherlands only has 2 so this should make it more entertaining but if u guys want me to restart in the dutch league, let me know

anyways, when each season ends, i ll make a post like this to provide updates for all our fellow japsterdamians :)
