So im trying to move from one state to another about 8 hours away. Not a single location local to me is offering oneway rentals. They all say "one way is not available" So if I just book a rental, and try dropping it off at a location in another state, what are they going to do about it? If they try to charge me and I dont pay them and just leave the car with them, what can they actually do about it other then send it to collections?
So i live in a rundown boarding house in the ghetto with 7 other people that I dont know. only common area is kitchen/bathroom. This house is falling apart. And rents far to expensive to be able to save up and move anytime soon. So I was opening my mail today, as ive been expecting paperwork from the state for health insurance benefits etc. I accidently opened a piece of mail that was for the landlord not me. He doesnt live here at the house with us. So I Told him I opened it on accident etc. Then he told me im not supposedo be getting mail here at all, and that I need to stop recieving mail here. Pretty sure its illegal to tell me I cant get mail at a place I reside at correct? I live here month to month. no lease. Now aside from that, the contents of the letter is whats concerning me. It was from the PA department of health regarding an inspection done on the house.

one of these violations was for renting out rooms without a permit from the state aswell.
So clearly im not supposedo know about this, as I found out on accident. but im worried the state is going to come in and remove us from the house because hes not going to fix any of the issues listed, Should I withhold rent? Can I report him for saying I cant get mail here? Ive been living here 4 months, this will be my first time not paying rent on the 1st when it is due. Hes going to try and make me leave if I dont pay him but I clearly do live here as I get mail here and I know my rights, I just dont know what I should do about paying rent this month as it seems the state is currently looking into this situation. I dont want to pay my rent for the month for the state to suddenly come in and make us leave half way thru the month. Any tips are appreciated.
Just did a fresh install on a lenovo thinkstation p520, its not finding my onboard wifi, I have not used linux in over 10 years since using ubuntu. any tips on how I can get my wifi to work, I did a fresh install on my micro pc and it picked up the wifi just fine. Trying to get it working on my main rig.
