Protection products
I'm about to rent my first vehicle, just wondering what protection products are actually worth it besides the damage waiver. I don't want to spend money on stuff that isn't really needed.

I got a rental through my local branch about 1 month and a half ago. I was in a car accident and the other persons insurance paid in full. The agent asked for my insurance information which i provided. Come to find out I signed to pay for a protection waiver. The guy didn’t explain just said “sign here” outside in 80 degree weather. I know i should’ve read the contract but lesson learned.
I called the branch and the manager says the he explained it me and i agreed which never happened. He refused to provide me with a refund. I emailed the area twice with no response. I called at least 10 times since then and keep being told i would be contacted. It has now been escalated to the corporate level and I still have not been contacted.
I am tempted to dispute the charge but am worried that since I signed the contract, they will win the claim and i will ruin my chance at a refund. Any suggestions are much appreciated!
(no judgement please.) I just got promoted fairly quickly to ABRM without much of a notice (we didn’t think a spot would open as soon as it did). i know i have to take a drug test and i have prepared myself for this about 5-6 months ago but i still am positive for thc. i’ve been detoxing , drinking so much water and exercising but im a little fluffy so its stored in my fat i’m assuming. I’ve been told by so many people they are not testing for thc but only hard drugs such as coke pills ect. I am very worried my luck i would be the one that the rule changes for any reason. has anyone been tested with thc in their system and still get promoted or do they really just look for hard drugs? I’m just really worried.
Renting a car at a local Enterprise in my neighborhood in NYC and traveling upstate for a weekend. I currently have no health insurance and no personal auto insurance, and I'm unsure if there's any sort of personal injury protection (PIP) that I can purchase, or which is already included by the state?
When I made the booking online, I didn't see get any option to purchase a separate PIP plan, and my research online makes it sound like all cars on the road including rental cars _should_ come with some kind of minimum coverage but it's unclear if that includes any kind of coverage for me were I to incur any kind of medical bills.
Side note- i’m a detailer btw for a home city branch and have been here for almost 4 years.
I’ve been with Enterprise for a while now, and I’m honestly getting to the point where I dread coming into work.
I don’t feel like I get paid enough for everything we’re expected to do. We’re constantly overworked, and it feels like we’re expected to just deal with whatever comes through the door.
One of my biggest frustrations is that management almost never charges customers for smoked-out cars or vehicles with excessive pet hair. We have signs posted about cleaning fees, customers sign the agreements, and then when they bring the cars back completely trashed… nothing happens. I’m expected to clean it up anyway, even when it takes hours.
I also got shorted on a pay raise. Our group’s pay cap increased, and from my understanding I was supposed to receive a raise because of that, but I never did. I’ve brought it up, and nothing has really come from it.
During the recent heat wave, we were told that if we wanted bottled water, we had to buy it ourselves. We all chipped in and bought cases of water, but management ended up drinking almost half of it. When we asked if they could replace what they drank, they said no. That honestly rubbed me the wrong way considering we were the ones outside in the heat all day.
To make things worse, I recently found out my manager clocked me out for lunch breaks that I never actually took, which resulted in me losing pay. Payroll had already been processed by the time I noticed it.
I’m just feeling completely burned out. I don’t mind working hard, but it feels like I’m constantly expected to do more while getting very little support.
So I’m wondering:
Is this how Enterprise is everywhere, or is my branch just poorly managed?
Does your branch actually charge customers for smoke or excessive pet hair?
Has anyone else had issues with promised raises not happening?
Has anyone dealt with managers changing your time punches?
Would you stick it out, try transferring to another branch, or just start looking elsewhere?
I’m genuinely curious because I don’t know if this is just my branch or if this is what working at Enterprise is like everywhere.
For refrence I in florida but my questions: what's the day to day like?, is it super stressful?, do you get breaks, can you sit in the booth or do you have to stand all day? , do we have to park the cars? Or sometimes Do you have to clean the cars also? I just want to know what im getting into
I'm interested in purchasing a mazda miata but i'd like to see how i like the car when doing a longer drive IE 45 minutes to one hour to see if I can handle the crampedness. I doubt the car sales people will want to do a 45 minute test drive and I don't blame them.
Is it possible to search by vehicle at locations near me?
I'm able to narrow it down by convertible at locations near me but it always says "ford mustang or similar". Is it even possible to see if I can get a miata 100%?
thank you!!
I’ll be renting one for a month and driving all over Los Angeles/Socal, drive down to Arizona also…
I rented a Chevy Malibu last time which was decent
Had a reservation luxury suv. They didn’t have one. They finally found one at 615pm. Reservation was 2pm. They brought to my work. When I wanted to ask questions to the person who dropped off. She was very rude. “Sir I’m going home, don’t worry about anything.” I never signed a rental agreement they never charged my card.
Oh wait it gets better. We get on the road and can’t drive over 65. Speed limit 70. The Jeep Wagoner L is shaking so bad it felt dangerous. Well okay so I drive 65. No big deal.
Warning lights about manual shift unavailable. A warning beep every couple of minutes on a 4 hour drive. Very annoying, not to mention the anxiety of my wife for the whole ride. We make it to our destination.
The next morning start the Jeep Wagoner L and the get in our way. About 5 minutes into our ride. Every warning light and message starts populating the screen. Check engine light. Emergency brake unavailable service transmission….etc…. So we turn around and call road side assistance.
Oh yeah it’s July 4th. Apparently all closed except airports. And we must be with 15 miles for them to drop a car to us. Mind you we need something with 7-8 seats. After a lot of filibustering from road side reps it’s no help. Was told a regional manager would call. No escalation dept. no calls. They could not care that we were stranded with no car.
We find someone to take my wife to the airport 30 miles away. And pick up another car. We wait about 12 hours for the tow truck to pick up the broken jeep. Said they would be there at 1130 pm and showed up at 830 am the next day. No resolution as of yet. This was a personal rental. The company I work for also has a very big corporate account. Canceling both of them. Will never rent again. Zero F’s were given on their part. With zero resolution on their part. Seems as though they are the OLD Comcast of rental cars. SMH
Just want to be prepared for when I show up on site. Renting this week for a month premium one
If I call the general customer service line(not the branch I rented from as they’re closed today) to extend my rental but I don’t see it updated online or the hold on my account, does that mean it didn’t go through?
I talked with a live representative to extend and after a small card hiccup she tried again and said I was extended the two extra days. But I haven’t received a text, email, bigger authorization hold and it’s not showing as extended online. Is that because my local branch is closed today? I just want to make sure I’m good and not going to have any awkwardness happen tomorrow when they open back up😬 thanks yall!
I am having trouble finding this out-
If I am renting for 3 days but I have enough points to use for 1 day (and then pay for other 2 days), will I still earn points for those 2 days I paid for? Or do I not earn any points at all for that rental?
Airlines won’t let you earn points/miles on flights you use points/miles for, so that’s why I’m asking.
Thanks!
So im trying to move from one state to another about 8 hours away. Not a single location local to me is offering oneway rentals. They all say "one way is not available" So if I just book a rental, and try dropping it off at a location in another state, what are they going to do about it? If they try to charge me and I dont pay them and just leave the car with them, what can they actually do about it other then send it to collections?
Rented a Kia K5 from Enterprise on Friday. At my first fuel stop, I noticed the front lower underbody plastic/splash shield area was already hanging down and zip-tied. I photographed it immediately.
I called Enterprise the same morning at 10:04 AM and reported that the lower front panels were zip-tied and hanging down. I spoke with a local branch employee, who said it would not be a problem.
Later, a steep driveway made scraping noises, probably contacting the same already-damaged lower plastic. I have not hit anything. I bought cable ties in case I need to temporarily stabilize it so it does not drag, but I do not plan to alter anything unless it becomes unsafe or starts dragging.
Question for former Enterprise/rental employees: what is the best way to handle this at return? Should I mention the call and photos immediately? Should I avoid touching it unless it is dragging? Anything specific I should ask them to note?
I have photos from pickup/fuel stop, the call time/name, and receipt for cable ties if needed.
Hey guys! I’m planning on renting a car for four days and plan on doing a long drive coming from Canada going down to the US and was wondering if i can get any advice on what I should look out for when looking for vehicles. Thanks!
Hey all, I’m working at a company that requires me to go to New York for a week and I’d need a rental car. I’m 18 and have held a license for about 5 months which I know would be an issue at Hertz but didn’t see anything about length of license here at enterprise. Would I get denied? Just wondering for any input if this is a valid way to go
I’ve worked at Enterprise for about 18 months now and I’ve mostly given people whatever they want (no matter how rudely they ask for it). However I’m starting to hit a breaking point. I’m curious, what are some guidelines you all follow to decide when it’s time to say “we’re done here, let’s try again another day”?
Been a crazy 9 months but I’m glad my hard work is showing. This job is far from peaceful or fun all the time but the people make everything better. My first location was a struggle because I was the only MT for 5 months, causing me to have to work every weekend for those 5 months. Hard to stay motivated during that time, but I did. I had the goal to MQI/Grill and get promoted. In May I got transferred to the airport as one of the best of the best. That has been and still is a great experience, but after thankfully passing my MQI and being promoted I put in my transfer paperwork immediately. Just yesterday I found out the other group accepted my request and I start later this month. Very excited for the change because I don’t enjoy this current city that much. I say all this to say even though long term Enterprise isn’t my dream or goal, it’s taking me where I wanna go eventually. Stick with it everyone if you have another goal in mind, this doesn’t have to be your forever.
P.S.
Sorry for the long post! Just wanted to share my journey to anyone who needed the motivation or words.
After 5 years, 4 as a branch manager I finally had my last day last Thursday. I did in fact find a new job, getting paid more, fewer hours, and only have to work 5 days a week. It still kind of blows my mind that Enterprise would rather loose a good employee than just pay them more. As a matter of fact before, they reduced my pay. O well, I left without burning any bridges but the time of year was very satisfying. Right after beginning of summer. I am thankful for enterprise because they did get me prepared for a new job. Let me know if you have any questions.
