Casino on Mother’s Day.
My(25M) mother decided to go to a casino on Mother’s Day. Her and I had a full length conversation, in person, a few days before about us spending the day together. However, come Mother’s Day, I text her “Hey I over slept. I’ll be over there shortly”. Her response was telling me she was already going to the Casino. A week later (today) she calls me and asks if I’m going to apologize for not spending the day with her. When I voiced my feelings about how hurt I was that she chose the casino over me, she said that I’m not the one allowed to be hurt because it was Mother’s Day. I said Mother’s Day is just as much for the child as it is the mother. Meaning I get to show my mom appreciation for raising me. She said very coldly “No it’s Mother’s Day, not Child’s Day”. Then later goes on to say she doesn’t understand why I’m upset with her.
Am I overreacting if I cut her out of my life?
