Help with countertop - Part 2
I couldn’t figure out how to add to my previous post, so apologies for creating another on the same topic.
Remodeling our 1919 kitchen, would like it to look more original to the house (the kitchen is the only room in the entire house that really has been messed with; thankfully woodwork and built ins in the rest of the house have never been painted or changed).
Current dilemma: kitchen is small and has a funky layout. Very little counter space, trying to maximize what we can. had idea to create a sort of “bump out” on the main prep area.
Posted a pic yesterday of a curved bump out, with concerns that it looks too mid-century for a craftsman-inspired kitchen. Many confirmed my concerns. Some suggested trying to square it off.
i have posted 3 pics, which option works best?
Original round option
Just a traditional counter, and maybe add a pull out larger cutting board?
Squared off
important notes: there are no concerns with the support of the countertop, an approved plan for that has been designed
countertop is black soapstone
