Is the 16.0.7.200 update safe from the motherboard point of view?

Lot of people reported motherboard failure in indian variants particularly after software updates.

I am not much knowledgable on what triggers these mobo failures and can't really afford to lose my phone hence just taking the necessary precautions before updating.
