Campaign Evolveds cutscenes look great (feel is off though)

Boy I’m going to regret this post but screw it.

I actually like the style and meld between brush work and semi realistic tone they’ve gone for. It doesn’t hold a candlestick to Halo 2 anniversary but my feeling is that they’ve gone with a different style here and that woks for me. Something that actually has roots in how the original looked and felt.

But saying that they LOOK LIKE SHIT isn’t true.

Here though as opposed to the gameplay, I actually have few gripes.

  1. Locked to 30 fps. Really ??????
  2. Some of the transitions are awkward
  3. The movement of the characters are unnatural
and BUT, don’t think they used mocap with this one and neither did in the original so I’ll let it go.

All in all I actually think the scenes are charming and actually contain quite abit of character.

Like I said, I’m gonna regret this but just wanted to be honest.

I like Campaign Evolved

We can all agree and disagree what makes Halo, HALO for each and every individual that enjoys playing these games. If there’s one single thing that is undoubtedly a centerpiece in the world of Halo is COMBAT.

Many of you will wonder how in the name of the GOD I’ve accumulated 81 hours into Campaign Evolved ?

The shortest and most simple answer to this question is the COMBAT, it’s one of the factors that truly (in my experience) has been revamped, improved and all for the better. This gets even better on the higher difficulties where the game requires and demands new levels of aggression, agency, knowledge and ability to adapt with what’s given and what’s available.

Just today I decided to jump back into the original to get a feel of the old stuff. I managed about ten minutes before I felt how stiff, static and how mostly felt more primitive. Need to clarify that i still love the original and always will and if you prefer it, that’s also fine 🫶

Campaign Evolved has so much better fluidity, fidelity, depth, additions, QoL improvements FLOW (especially in combat). The song and dance where you utilize weapons, use cover, sprint, change positions, keep pressure on, and on occasion pull off something spectacular. The gunplay is just fantastic.

After contemplating how the skulls can be utilized to alter the experience (No LASO for me) to make even more intense combat experience, my mind really started to realize that campaign evolved has the ability create more kinds of intense combat experiences, where you as the player have to adapt and show higher levels of skill, cunningness and efficiency.

I’ve played some coop and it’s also very good fun.

I’ll lastly just squeeze in how GOOD this game looks, it’s been injected with so much life and vibrancy.

(Picture is from my poster collection, bought back in 2016) That’s the original image.

Really thought I had outgrown Halo, I was very wrong after Campaign Evolved.

I’ve played all the games, read so many books, watched all the movies, listened to the soundtracks. So it’s easy to say I’ve spent thousands upon thousands of hours in the Halo universe.

Last few years I felt that I had outgrown it and I just wasn’t getting anything more out of it.

Then i sunk my teeth into Campaign Evolved and then my interest suddenly did a 180 and it was like Chief himself was saying to me -No young man, I’m not done with you yet.

To me, this remake is nothing of short amazing and the combat is just CHEFS KISS. I could ramble on with all the stuff I love with this remake and admit a few kinks but I just want to see Halo Studios thrive and keep these games coming.

The Library, is actually a fun mission now !

One of the most infamously boring missions in halos history has actually been remade into a fun mission with lots added details that makes you realize what sort of place it actually is.

The flood are actually more fun to fight this time around. Not perfect but sure as hell better than the original.

This is my Crosman DPMS SBR. (1500 shots later)

Finally got a whole weekend where I got to shoot this rifle as much I like !

I sat mostly at 20 yards and shot at 33cl cans. I noticed quickly that BBs struggle with accuracy at anything past 15 meters. So my solution was a medium sized wooden shelf where a A4 paper could fit with a simple target diagram.

I was kinda surprised that this gun actually could keep semi decent grouping and hit reliably, it was especially nice to get that hit feedback from the wooden shelf.

Even my dad tried a few shots (he’s not into weaponry) and had to confess that it was good fun shooting this gun.

I’ve been very tentative with lubrication (pellgun oil) as I want this rifle to function for as long as possible.

The automatic mode is INSANE. I’ve done it very few times and will be shooting 95 % single shot. Don’t want to shag the magazine.

I’ve got simple red dot at the moment, waiting for Bipod/foregrip and a different red dot that has abit more height to it, the current on requires you to jam your cheers into the buttstock abit too much for my liking.

This gun is an exceptional amount of fun. I realize it’s only a backyard plinker but it’s a VERY GOOD backyard plinker.

Are these BBs more accurate due to their increased weight ?

I’m super curious if these BBs actually abit more accurate than your standard Crosman BBs.

This is my Crosman SBR. There are many like but this one is mines

If anyone has tried RumbleCanadas mods, espcially the one video where he adds c-clips to the barrel within the the grommit. Let me know if you’ve ever done any simple mods to make the rifle ever so slightly better.

These rounds has gotten jammed in the barrel three times now.

I’ve mostly used EXACTS and HADES rounds and they shoot great. Figured I’d give these heavier rounds a go, these might actually break my gun. What am I missing here ???

Any one else have these rounds ?

Crosman Vigilante Revolver

This my first airgun. It shoots pellets without issues but the round bbs are very inconsistent and don’t even leave magazine disk.

It’s got an optical sight and added laser but the laser hasn’t been set properly.

Spent the weekend shooting around 500 rounds and it’s a blast. The distance I shot was around 15 to 20 meters.
Beer cans and coke cans got demolished…

I was quite surprised the the gun could hit targets reliably at 20 meters 😳

If you have any tips how to get the steel bbs to actually work. Let me know.

Have a good one folks.
