New Rifle time

New to me AA X200 Vanguard with a Weihrauch suppressor, Hawke Bi pod and a DNT Zulus 4k. Had it shooting in my back garden out to 20y but i have permission for 5 acres so i need to zero it to 30-35 yards. Absolutely love it, my last pcp was the original bsa ultra single shot which i still have.

Anschutz 275 parts

Hi all,

I have one of the above rifles (photo from Google but the same rifle)

It obviously needs a full service - the spring feels strong when cocking and loud enough when firing but the BBs just roll out of the end of the barrel.

I’m assuming that it will have a cloth/leather seal that will need replacing but if I am going to take it apart (assuming this isn’t too difficult to do at home), I would like to know what else I should be replacing and where to get any spares from.

I would obviously need all of the seals, I’d like the strongest spring that it will handle but am well aware that it is just a gallery rifle and ? Anything else that should be replaced/serviced.

Does anyone know where I can get spare parts for this from as I’m struggling to find them even from Anschutz themselves?

Or/And could anyone recommend someone who knows these rifles and could service it for me please?
(I’m in Tamworth, B78 if that Helps).

Thanks in advance,

Chris

~20 year old Walther tactical pack!

I just saw this sub while i was browsing, and haven't looked at airguns in almost a decade...

I found my old walther umarex pellet airgun, and was wondering how people with new airguns feel about it...

Is it old and outdated? Is it an antique? Is it cool?

I think it is an Umarex Walther CP99 tactical pack, but I remember there being two similar models around the time i bought it, and the other one was much cheaper. I might have the model confused.

I believe I got this from pyramid air in about 2008 or 2009. It still works great, and I applied a dab of pellgun oil for every new c02 cartridge.

The suppressor is not functional, but it looks cool when co2 exits the two front holes.

It does not blowback.

It came with a red dot, but shortly after I got it, someone stole it, but not the airpistol...?

It is very accurate at short range, even with it's fairly heavy trigger. I like the rws diabolo pellets, but I would love suggestions if there is a better modern option!

Can .177 cotton cleaning pellets kill pests?

Would shooting a huntsman spider with a .177 cotton cleaning pellet be enough to kill it? Also, would it damage drywall indoors? I don’t currently have the pellets or a spider in my house, I’m just curious if it would realistically work.

"Nice" springer

I cant say i am new to air guns. Ive had probably 10 different cheapish air rifles. Crosman, benjamin, gamos and beemans. I am looking for something that I can potentially put pellet on pellet at 30 yards. My budget is less than $400 if possible unless someone says that the one diana thats like 450 is better than anything else. It seems all roads for a break action rifles leads to the hatsan mod 95. Any other input and recommendations? I dont have any way to refill a pcp tank at the moment unless i buy one of those fancy bike pumps and i dont think i want to do that at the moment. This is not for hunting I just like to shoot. The gun will never be taken past 60-75 yards. Preferably 177 but id consider a 22.

Cell phone vs airgun

I had an old moto cell phone that was too outdated to repurpose so rather than just toss it I thought I'd put a hole in it. I have a Beeman P17 which I thought had a pretty good punch, but the picture of the phone above is the after" once I wiped off the spot where the pellet hit. The pellet to the right is what the one on the left started out like. I took another try at the back (not pictured) since it's glass too, but it pretty much blew up as I'd hoped the front would. Interesting experiment though.

GX-CS4-I is the truth.

Just got my coolant reservoir filled with the 70/30 Zerex G48 mix, and I'm very quickly and quietly filling to 300BAR. This thing kicks the shit out of the GX-CS3 all day long. Would've gone with the E-5K2 but I need the 12v connection for my use case.

Now I have a Machine Gun

Haven’t had this one out in a few months but had to move to the garage with a rainy day. As fun as always.

HW99s/HW50 for hft?

I am completely new to HFT and due to recovering from a nasty shoulder injury I recently bought an hw99s in .177 for general shooting as it weighs less than 7 pounds so is easier for me to use as I am recovering.

As I said though, I'd like to learn enough to know my way around an HFT course, and was wondering if anyone has had success in that discipline shooting an 'out the box' '99s? I could have her 'fettled' but she shoots so sweetly at 11.1flb as she is, with a standard deviation of 2.22 feet per second that I don't see the need!

I'm not looking to win any nationals, or even regionals for that matter, but could I even hope to compete with most of the people who are using guns like the Air Arms HFT 500 etc at my local club?

Pointers or advice would be much appreciated👍

Unjam a Stoeger XM1 Bullshark ...

I didn't see any posts which quite addressed my question so here it is: My son and I just got a Stoeger XM1 Bullshark and while we were using it, we had a jam. I don't know if one of us put in a damaged pellet to the magazine or what happened but the gun got stuck where I pull the cocking lever all the way back but it won't go more than halfway forward again. I managed to weasel the magazine out and where the rod pushes a pellet from the magazine into the gun itself, I see what looks like a jammed pellet right there which is making it so the cocking lever can't go forward as it hits the jammed pellet. Is where the pellet is stuck accessible so that using say a wooden dowel rod from the muzzle of the gun able to reach that pellet and hopefully let me tap it out? I don't know the exact layout and design whether that's totally impossible for (reason) or if it's actuall possible to get the pellet out with gentle tapping on a dowel rod.

I did get a video on disassembling the gun; if the dowel rod idea isn't possible just how much must I take apart to get at where I can knock that pellet out? Thanks a bunch in advance.

Best air rifle for rats

I have 1 smart rat that is avoiding all my traps inside my garage. I've come to the point where I want to camp out and pop this 1 rat. What are some recommendations on an air gun rifle? Most importantly, I dont want it to be loud.

This would be my first air gun.

Portable scuba bottle for at the range?

hi guys,

I want to buy a portable scuba bottle for at the range. I think I want to do about 2-4 fill cycles per session at the range. I use a Houben gk1 with a 85cc cilinder. I'm considering a 1.1 litter vs 3 liter scuba bottle. which size would fit my need the best, my choice goes towards the 1.1 liter but can it realistically fill my gk1 to 280-300 before the pressure drops too much? how many fill sessions can I expect from the 1.1 liter before it drops below 280?

Remington m1911 RAC (Not Tac) & Rem Tyrant .22

I have a Remington m1911 rac & Remington Tyrant Wood .22 and was wondering if there is any accessories for them? I've searched online and can't find anything for either. I know the 1911 doesn't have a tac rail but out of curiosity is there anything I can buy/mod to fit a sight? I know people will tell me to buy a different/better guns but both are sentimental to me so don't want to replace either, plus I find both fun. And I only shoot paper targets every fortnight. Based in UK in that helps. Thanks all

Help deciding first air rifle

Hi everyone, as the title says I’m looking to get my first air rifle. I want a PCP as it seems to be a lot better for my use case. I’m intending on getting one just for target shooting at a local airgun range in the UK.

I’m between the Nova Vista razer .22 and the umarex iconix.22

Any recommendations for what’s going to be better in terms of accuracy and longevity?

All help is massively appreciated.

Is there any PCP rifle purpose built for tethering?

Basically I'm wondering if there is any PCP rifle that was designed to either use a tethered bottle as its primary air source, or has a fill port located where the hose would not be awkward to move with.

Most every air rifle I looked at either has the fill port way out in front, or sticking out the side away from the shooter. I think ideally a tether based rifle would have a fill port toward the back, pointing down. If it has a tank at all, it would be smaller tank that would act as a plenum.

My neighbors got rid of their chickens and are digging up the rat burrow. It's rat anarchy in my yard. Should I get the pinty buster or a crossman 1322? Which is quieter with a supressor?

Thanks. I'm not allowed to shoot airguns here so it needs to be silent. I've also got other traps and such set up but I need to kill the rat king. Looking for a .22

I'd also be okay with the 2240 but I've heard its louder.

I don't mind getting a PCP system if it's the vastly superior choice. Does any pistol get truely silent? Just hear the mechanism click? I had a gamo break barrel .177 with a supressor and its extremely loud

My Anschütz 8001 Finally Found Its Perfect Pellet… And The Results Were Insane 😳

Spent some time properly testing pellets with my Anschütz 8001 yesterday and I honestly came away seriously impressed by this rifle.

We put the rifle in the vice, connected the chronograph and the electronic target. Started the software. And the testing started.

I brought a wide variety of pellets including JSB S100, RWS R10, H&N Finale Match Heavy and several others to see what the rifle actually preferred instead of just guessing based on reputation or what works in other barrels.

Most of the groups were already very good, but once we started testing QYS pellets the rifle suddenly came alive. One particular batch produced some of the tightest groups I’ve personally seen from this rifle.

In the end we managed to shoot a ridiculous 10 shot group measuring only 5.52mm, which absolutely exceeded my expectations.

What impressed me the most is how capable the 8001 really is despite being one of the slimmer and lighter Anschütz match rifles. The balance is excellent, it sits naturally in position, the trigger is phenomenal, the diopter and Centra front sight setup are top tier and the shot count per cylinder is surprisingly good as well.

Honestly, every time I spend more time with this rifle I appreciate it more. It may not always get as much attention as some newer match PCPs, but the precision potential is absolutely there if you take the time to properly test pellets and find what the barrel truly likes.

What scopes should I consider replacing the stock 4×32mm scope on my Crosman Vantage .22 with?

I tried my best with the stock 4×32mm scope but ultimately I could not get it accurately zeroed consistently. I am new to the hobby and a student, so I'm trying to keep whatever I buy under $50.

What would you all consider as a solid replacement?
