Took a squirrel at 25 yards using my JTS Airstrike .22 pushing the new Walmart-stocked Hades at roughly 860 fps.

The shot was quartering towards me. The pellet entered behind the front shoulder, traveled diagonally through the body, and lodged in the opposite hip without passing through.

Upon inspection, the recovered pellet expanded by only about 0.5 mm over normal diameter.

Despite substantial penetration across nearly the entire length of the animal, the lead alloy on these newer Walmart runs seems fairly hard. If you are expecting massive energy dump or mushrooming, you might be disappointed. They are acting much more like standard domed field pellets at this velocity.

Anyone else noticing harder lead batches on the newer retail packs?

Ive been testing a lot of different slugs in my JTS airstryke. Its a budget pcp and shoots pellets great! But slugs are much sketchier. That group is my best with slugs. The hybrid slugs. Have you guys tried any other slugs or pellets with the airstryke yet? I tried jts slugs but they were too heavy and tumble. Still they absolutely smack squirrels. But too inaccurate to use. Seems like a tighter barrel fit and somewhere around 18 to 22 grains is all it can handle. Shoots heavier pellets tho. My guess is the twist rate simply is not fast enough to handle heavy slugs.

New to the watch obsession but i picked this up for 20 dollars.....the patina of the leather strap hooked me. Put a new battery in and she runs great! Im now addicted

This project has been so tough. Finally got it together and it doesnt fit the upper. Guess ill try hoffmans!

Hey guys can you give your opinion on why my lower looks like this? Its a test print in pla before i send it with pet gf. Im thinking my Z distance is a bit tight. Causing it to squish

Has anyone tried this filament? Im going to give it a go but dont know what to expect. Ive been using pet-gf for my strong heat resistant prints.

This is a design ive been thinking about for a bit. 3d printed and annealed! Its actually kinda sharp after a quick run on a stone.
