Complete rookie mistake!

So a friend of mine recently joined the game, I helped set him up with his first rifle - a Walther RM8 UC in .22 - he went out on his own, then came to a test/practice session with us. He said his scope was off coz he wasn’t hitting anything. Noticed at the beginning of the evening that his gauge was showing literally empty. Filled up, then noticed his rifle wasn’t firing, I counted 4 shots what I thought was a multi load jam.

So after stripping out the barrel to clear the jam, I counted a multi load of 17 pellets! Note to the wise - don’t let your air run so low it can’t push the pellets out of the barrel!!!!!

A very strange occurrence

As some of you may know, I recently got a hold of a Reximex Lyra K as a secondary rifle. It’s a UK sub 12ft lbs .177

When testing and getting the rifle ready, pellet and scope testing, I dressed the rifle up with a SightMark Wraith and Weihrauch XLK mod.

I found various issues, firstly the scope rail was too far forward to allow easy eye relief to suit the Wraith - no big deal, just means doesn’t suit this type of scope without a rail extension. But the biggest issue found was with the moderator. I zero’d the scope, no problem (unmoderated), but then went to dress the rifle ready for hunt/target use, didn’t think twice, fitted the mod, went to check zero/grouping and the shot grouping was near enough non existent! Took the mod off and all back to normal!

Checked the mod for clipping - nothing. It seems to be that the air turbulence caused inside the mod throws the pellets out of whack. I’ve yet to try other mods, but has anyone else found this with a Lyra K? What mods are people using?
