Talkiatry Horrible. What are your experiences with them?
Do not use Talkiatry unless you enjoy surprise bills. My husband and I moved from Chicago to Massachusetts and picked them because Aetna proudly listed them as in-network—apparently “in-network” now means “brace yourself.” Imagine our delight when a single 30-minute appointment turned into a nearly $400 bill.
Talkiatry charged around $600, Aetna tossed in about $200 like spare change, and we got stuck holding the rest.
Nothing about this visit screamed “premium luxury experience.” It was a glorified check-in that felt like it could’ve been handled in the time it takes to microwave leftovers, yet somehow came with a price tag worthy of a five-star spa day. We certainly didn’t expect to pay this much out of pocket for an in-network provider, especially for what amounted to a brief telehealth cameo driven by bureaucratic nonsense.
If you’re trusting your insurance directory, maybe have a healthy dose of skepticism. Double, triple, and possibly hire a detective to confirm what you’ll actually owe before scheduling. Our experience was beyond disappointing—it was borderline absurd—and we will absolutely not be making the mistake of trusting this provider again.
All I want to know is what are others experiences with talkiatry because I feel like we just got fleeced for $400?
