Who should pay the misdeclaration penalty?
I bought an item to the value of R507.70, when it landed Customs flagged it as having been declared as less than R500. They now want to charge me a penalty of R500 and R83 VAT, nevermind I already paid R260 for VAT. Who is repsonsible for this misdeclaration and the R500 fine?
