Well, today happened: my 9700X died. I was just browsing the web when the entire system froze — screen, peripherals, and even the PC lights. I restarted the PC, but the fans immediately went to 100% and there was no display output. The CPU and RAM debug LEDs were on.

I tried resetting the CMOS and swapping the RAM for a single DDR5 stick from a spare PC, but it still wouldn’t POST. Finally, I grabbed a 9600X from the spare PC, installed it, and the system booted again. So… dead CPU.

I already requested an AMD RMA.

I was running BIOS version 4.10 with XMP enabled on my 32GB Corsair RAM at 6400 MT/s. The VSOC voltage was also locked at 1.2V by default.

All the parts where purchased on march 2025, so roughly 1 year and 2 months of use
