What's the best vintage camera for beautiful shots? Looking for recommendations!
Hey everyone! 👋
I've been really into photography lately and I'm thinking about going the vintage/film camera route instead of buying a modern digital one.
There's something about the aesthetic and feel of old cameras that modern ones just can't replicate the grain, the colors, the whole vibe. But I'm honestly overwhelmed by the options out there.
So I wanted to ask the community:
What's the best vintage camera you'd recommend for someone who wants beautiful, high-quality shots?
A few things I'm looking for:
- Great image quality (obviously 😄)
- Something that's not too hard to find or ridiculously expensive
- Preferably beginner-friendly
- Bonus points if it has a unique or cinematic look
I've seen people talk about the Pentax K1000, Canon AE-1, and Minolta X-700 but I honestly don't know where to start. Are these worth it? Are there hidden gems I'm missing?
Also film or digital vintage? Does it even matter at this point with editing tools being so powerful?
Would love to hear your personal experiences, not just specs. What camera made you fall in love with photography?
