Fractured fingers misdiagnosed
Hello!! I 25F had a heavy metal do slam on my right hand fingers on Thursday evening I’ve had multiple injuries, accident and surgeries in my life, but the pain of this was unbelievable. I was crying for two hours, my fingers were swollen. I iced my fingers for those three hours and by the time the pain finally came down enough I was thinking of going to urgent care, but they were all closed and I figured it wasn’t an emergency enough to go to the ER.
The next morning (Friday)I woke up and my fingers felt better but I still couldn’t move them and if I touched them the pain would radiate all the way to my arm and shoulder, I’m a grad student and I had an examen I had to take so so I thought maybe it’s not an emergency yet and I can take my exam.
I ended up going to the urgent care around 5 PM on Friday so 24 hours after the incident, they did an x-ray where I was diagnosed with non-displaced fracture of my ring and middle finger. The Doctor who saw me also pointed out that my pinky had maybe a very small one. I got metal splinters on the middle and ring finger.
Today on Saturday, I get a call from a different doctor from the same urgent care and he’s telling me that they misdiagnosed me and there is no fracture and that another radiologist read and said no fracture as well, and I can take out the splinter and move my fingers.
The thing this doctor who called me from this urgent care has misdiagnosed me for multiple things in the past, including pretty severe things that I needed urgent care for so I don’t know what to do if I can trust him or the first Doctor that diagnosed the fracture.
My fingers are still hurting. They’re still swollen. They’re slightly bruised. I can move them. I can slightly bend them although it’s hard, but mostly I’ll randomly get shots of pain through my hand and even my arm.
I’m including pictures of my x-ray with different contrast as well. On the second one I outlined where the first Dr showed me the “fracture”If someone could help me, I would appreciate!!!
