What is this

I’ve had it about a week, I went to the doctor and told them I thought it was poison ivy and that’s what the doctor went with and after I left I thought maybe it could be something else like ring worm, the doctor gave me steroid and a allergy pill for itching and mupirocin and I bought a fungal cream from walgreens, what do you think it is ? It’s itchy and honey color pus and it doesn’t hurt, it seems like it has gotten better from what I have, do I need to go back to the doctor?

Necrotic Tonsil After Possible Mono Diagnosis?

Profile: 24M - 6'2, 190lbs, white, Canada

Visited a physician this past Friday with throat pain, fever, and what looks like tonsil stones (see 3rd photo for reference). The doctor took a strep swab and provided amoxicillin to treat while waiting for results. Started taking the amoxicillin immediately.

Fast forward approx. 48 hours to Sunday, and symptoms are not getting any better (see photo #2). This being unexpected, I went back on Sunday. The doctor said the strep came back negative, and since the meds weren't working, to stop the amoxicillin ASAP. Took another swab to be sure, and the doctor said it was most likely Mono or a viral equivalent (just got back from taking bloodwork to confirm) and that all I could do was pain management. He also asked I book an appt with him again next Sunday to review.

I mentioned the darkening colour and asked if I should be worried; he brushed it off quite quickly, so I dropped it. He asked I stay home from school for the week and wrote me a note. Dkm, but my master's program is quite strict (if I miss 5 classes all semester I can't pass the course), so I informed my program office, asked for next step help, and went anyway.

It's now Monday (today), and my throat looks like photo #1. Symptoms are manageable with lozenges, mouthwash, and advil/tylenol, but the shrivelling of my tonsil and its colour have me freaked out. I am currently back in my university town, so access to clinics is more difficult, and I'd feel silly going to emerg if this is nothing. Should I relax since the doctor didn't seem too worried unless symptoms worsen, or is this bad?

Thanks in advance <3

Random rash/bruising?

Hi everyone, I’m kind of freaking out because I just found this random bruising on the side of my upper thigh/butt area. It wasn’t there this morning so I’m trying to figure out if this is an allergic reaction to something or if it’s more serious? I was itching the spot earlier a lot but just noticed these bruises spread like this

submandibular Gland pain

I had an ultrasound done. This came back:

There does appear to be a hypoechoic structure within the submandibular gland measuring 1.0 x 0.9 x 0.6 cm with ill-defined borders.

The pain is persistent and consistent. It has been there for years and was always dismissed by the doctors. Recently, I started seeing a doctor who ordered ultrasound just to make sure nothing is there after she tried to examine my thyroid and I was in pain. Well, sure enough, this was there.
Eating doesn’t trigger the pain. But washing my face/neck and touching that area sends a sharp pain. My right ear hurts as well.
I am scheduled for an MRI, but I was wondering if anyone had an experience like that.

What could this be? Is it normal lip irritation or something else?

I am not sure what this is im hoping it is not what i think it is, it suddenly just popped up then i kept biting it because didn’t know what it was and it does burn and tingle here and there and a little bit constantly it slows down here and there it doesn’t exactly look like herpes but just a tad bit can anyone help?

I checked on the mirror it looks more like a bite mark like it is noticeable but nothing fluid like or anything like that , just looks tender and feel tender also a raw feeling.

Edit - it has calmed down and i dont really feel anything anymore it feels less irritated

Early signs of clubbing?

24M. Im extremely health anxious right now and i saw that downward curving of the nails and puffy bases of the nail were signs of early clubbing. I have no symptoms as of right now and I can see the diamond but its eating at me so im posting here for either peace of mind or confirmation that I should go see a doctor.

Should I be worried?

I am 18/F I was looking in the mirror when I realized my pupils were slightly different sizes, I take sertraline and I have had severe migraines for years. I am going to a neurologist soon anyways for unrelated issues but is this something I should get checked sooner? (The filter is because I did not have clothes on).

Note: I went to the ER this morning. They went ahead and did a CT scan, luckily it was nothing tho they couldn't explain why it just started now. Either way I already have a set appointment with my neurologist and will add this to the list of things.

Can anyone tell me what the heck this is? I don’t have any pain or irritation, but what is it?

This is not my period, it's coming from my anus

Does this mean I'm dying? Or have cancer? I thought I was on my period, but all this blood came from my anus.

33F - Progressive neurological symptoms, normal initial tests, looking for similar experiences

Hi everyone,

I’m a 33-year-old female from Australia and I’m hoping to hear from anyone who has experienced something similar while I continue working with my doctors. I’m otherwise healthy. The only medication I take is letrozole for ovulation induction. I don’t have any significant medical conditions that I’m aware of except for asthma and thalassemia (minor).

Over the last few weeks or so I’ve developed a collection of symptoms that seem to be getting worse rather than better, and they’re becoming quite concerning.

My symptoms include:
Numbness and tingling affecting different parts of my body.
Weakness and a heavy feeling, particularly on one side at times.
A feeling that my coordination and balance aren’t quite right.
Neck pain and pain around my upper spine.
Episodes where taking a deep breath feels difficult or unsatisfying, even though I can breathe and my oxygen levels have been normal.
Dizziness and feeling “off”.
A sensation that something neurological is happening, although I can’t explain it well.
Symptoms seem to fluctuate throughout the day but overall have gradually progressed.

This has happened to me in the past, but only very rarely when I’ve been hungover and at the time thought that was the cause. This is no longer a factor as I am TTC (2.5 years).

I’ve been assessed medically. (Attended the ED twice). My vital signs have generally been normal and I’ve had some initial investigations that haven’t shown an obvious cause including blood tests and a contrast CT scan on my head and neck. Despite that, the symptoms continue, and I’m still waiting for further assessment.

I’m not looking for a diagnosis or medical advice. I’m simply wondering:
Has anyone experienced a similar combination of neurological symptoms that initially had normal tests?
If so, what did it eventually turn out to be?
Were there any investigations that ended up providing the answer (MRI, nerve conduction studies, blood tests, etc.)?
Did anyone have symptoms that came and went before becoming more persistent?

I’m continuing to follow up with my doctors and will seek urgent medical care again if things worsen, but I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been through something similar.

I’ve seen a cardiologist today, and am waiting for a referral to see a neurologist.

Thank you for reading.

How do you distinguish if when you cough muccus is due reflux or external viral/bacterial infection you caught? What is the type of dr you should visit to diagnose this?

I have been coughing green stuff. I had some nasty viral type infection back in april, finally survived, but for 2 weeks or so im coughing again some green stuff, sometimes it's less green. Is this an infection that remains? Im paranoid that it's some sort of reflux because I noticed this happens after I eat or dinning, but I dont notice any classic symptons of reflux like acid, burps, something on back of throat etc, so I don't know what's going on. I want to check with a dr but im not sure what would be best for this.

Reason im extra paranoid of GERD is this: Back in march I had a diarrhea with pain after dinner when I was in bed. I was with a girl and luckily this happened after. Frankly I should have went to the bathroom to pee or something but I was holding it. I don't know if this caused the diarrhea. Well the scary part is next morning, I felt like diarrhea was comming again, but it was actually blood. The blood was fresh. I have been since then paranoid that I broke something on my gut or something. I went to the hospital (social healthcare in EU). They did x-ray, digital tract, bloodwork, stool sample. All ok. But still paranoid something happened there that now is causing this. Or you would say this is related to the viral infection from mid april?

These are from various days:

Extremely itchy legs and extreme bruising

Hi! I have had this for a couple of years now. Everytime I shave my legs with a razor I start getting so itchy that I feel the urge to scratch very hard. I end up getting bruises so bad everyone is so impressed by them. This also happens after mosquito bites and it has happened while I’m working out (specifically spinning). What could it be? I went to my annual check up with my GP but she just told me to use cerave cream. I still get these itching and bruises especially after shaving and mosquito bites( only on my legs)

Black specks in spit

Hello everyone, I have been having black specks in my mucus. Although it is mainly in the morning, sometimes I get these specks when I try to hack up my Throat or clear it. I don’t have any cough. I smoke weed regularly (about 2 joints per day) with some tobacco in it. Does anyone have any idea what it could be ? It has been happening for the past few months

Weird looking throat since late may into early/mid June.

I honestly don’t know what it could be. I’ve looked into so many different things and my mom won’t take me to the doctor or express care. I’ve had no fever, no pain, no swollen lymph nodes from what I can see and feel. It doesn’t hurt to swallow, it just feels a bit weird to. White spots came and some went. Not really have any bad breath either .

Help, am I pregnant?

I am now 7 days late, on June 14 my boyfriend and I had protected sex by using a condom and doing the pull out method, I also remember having spotting 2 days after the deed but I assumed it was nothing. My app says that it was a safe day, a day after my ovulation cycle. It also states that I should be expecting my period on June 25-27. 2 days after my period was late I took 2 pregnancy tests at 6pm and it was negative, I also took 1 yesterday morning just to be sure and it was also negative. Am I pregnant? I'm not an irregular, but I hope this is just an irregular menstrual cycle. Is there something I could do so I could have my period back? Pls help...
