Band size confusion - 32C too tight, but "true size" is 30D. Possible to avoid extenders, or no?
Loose underbust: 30
Snug underbust: 29
Tight underbust: 28
Standing bust: 34
Leaning bust: 34.5
Lying bust: 33
I have wide roots, shallow and wide-set breasts which are visually quite small by anyone's definition. In my teens/early 20s, I wore a 32C very comfortably. Now I'm a bit wider around the underbust, and very intolerant of the feeling of a tight band. For years I've worn mainly stretchy / padded bralets in size Small rather than an actual bra. Those are super comfy but obviously not ideal for many outfits.
Recently I've been wanting a real bra again. I got a bunch of 32Cs from Calvin Klein (which used to be my go-to). I found them all really tight and uncomfortable, slightly too close together, and with a tiny (but probably acceptable) gap in the cup after scoop-and-swooping. I did the calculator here and it gave me 30D/30DD - I'm struggling to see how that's possible given that the 32Cs were all so tight. I can see how the cup would be more suitable in a 30D/30DD, but I have very low confidence in the band size.
Is this salvageable without extenders, or should I just bite that bullet?
