Work in progress! (More news on update 1.0.4) 👀🏀

Hey everyone!

Following up on our last post, we’re back with some more exciting news for the upcoming 1.0.4 update!

In addition to what we already announced, here is what else is coming:

  • Dark Mode is finally here! Your eyes can now rest during those late-night management sessions.
  • League Stats Comparison: On the Team Screen, you’ll now be able to see how your team’s stats compare directly with the rest of the league.
  • Draft Pick Trading: You can now include draft picks in your trades to build for the future!

As a quick reminder, update 1.0.4 will also include the brand new depth chart system, manual in-game substitutions, new end-of-season awards, and various UI improvements.

We’re really excited about how this update is shaping up. Thanks again for all the support and feedback, it truly makes a difference!

Salomon X Ultra 5 Mid GTX for 6 months in Trondheim (Erasmus), worth it?

Hey everyone, I'm doing an Erasmus exchange in Trondheim, Norway from September 2026 to February 2027 and I'm trying to find the right footwear for the whole stay.

I've been looking at the Salomon X Ultra 5 Mid GTX (peat/gray green/blue nights colorway) at around €153 new. My main use case would be:

- Daily walking around the city

- Occasional day hikes in the area (Bymarka and surroundings)

- Surviving a Norwegian autumn/winter (rain, slush, snow, ice)

A few questions for people who know these shoes or the Trondheim area:

  1. Quality/price: Is €153 a fair price for this shoe, or is there a better alternative in the same range?
  2. Versatility: Can these realistically double as both a city shoe and a light hiking boot for 6 months of hard use?
  3. Winter performance: How do they hold up on icy/snowy surfaces? Should I pair them with removable ice grips?

I'm sizing up one size (wearing EU 43, going for 44) to accommodate thick wool socks in winter, does that make sense with this model?

Thanks in advance!

Computer science course suggestion for the next semester!

Hi everyone,

I’m an exchange/computer science student and I’m considering these courses for next semester:

  • TDT4287 — Algorithms for Bioinformatics
  • TDT4173 — Modern Machine Learning in Practice
  • TDT4200 — Parallel Computing
  • TDT4252 — Enterprise Architecture for Enterprise Innovation
  • IT3021 — Game +

I’d love to hear some feedback from people who have taken them.

Mainly I’m interested in: workload/difficulty and whether you would recommend it overall

Hi,

my friend and I are huge basketball nerds and we love deep management simulation games. We noticed a lack of modern, fast, and UI-friendly basketball managers on Android, so we decided to code one ourselves.

The Game: Dunk Manager

It's a pure franchise management game. You manage the roster, sign free agents, draft rookies, trade players, and try to build a dynasty. We spent months tweaking the simulation engine to make the stats realistic, and we really focused on making the UI clean for mobile screens. You can play with randomly generated players or download community-made custom rosters.

We are just two guys, not a studio, and the game is 100% free. No pay-to-win mechanics.

We just released it and would genuinely love some feedback from this community. What features would you like to see next? Is the draft balanced? Let us know!

Thanks for checking it out!

Hey everyone!

We’ve been hard at work improving the game, also thanks to your feedback on Discord. Here’s a quick look at few things that are coming in the next release (1.0.4):

  • A brand new depth chart system, replacing the old target minutes logic
  • Manual substitutions and roster management during games
  • New end-of-season awards
  • Ongoing improvements to make some UI screens clearer and more intuitive
  • And finally… an iOS release is coming soon!

We’re really excited about these changes and can’t wait for you to try them out. Thanks again for all the support, it truly helps us shape the game in the right direction!

Hi everyone,

Update 1.0.3 is very soon live on the Play Store. This patch focuses strictly on bug fixes, localization improvements, and resolving UI scaling issues reported since launch.

Here is the full changelog:

  • Localization: Fixed missing and incorrect translations across French, Spanish, and Portuguese languages.
  • Roster Download: Updated and optimized the download method for the real-world NBA custom roster pack to improve reliability during career setup.
  • UI & Accessibility Scaling: Fixed an issue where system font sizes set to "Large" or "Huge" would break the layout (specifically on Trade and Roster screens). Implemented dynamic scaling caps to ensure text remains readable and correctly aligned on all devices.
  • Stability: Resolved several edge-case bugs that caused random app crashes during specific market interactions and game simulations.

Thank you to everyone who reported these issues! We are continuing to monitor your feedback as we prepare for larger gameplay and feature updates.

Welcome everyone!

If you are here, it means you share our passion for basketball and management games. We created Dunk Manager because we felt the mobile gaming market was missing a basketball manager that was deep enough to be engaging, but accessible enough to play anywhere.

This game started as a university project between two friends, and after months of late nights, coding, and endless testing, we are incredibly proud to finally share it with you!

📱 What is Dunk Manager?
Dunk Manager is a mobile basketball management simulation where you take full control of a franchise.

  • Build your roster: Draft rookies, trade assets, and manage free agency.
  • Player Development: Watch your players grow, peak, and regress based on their potential and performance.
  • Manage Finances: Balance the salary cap, luxury tax, and team budget.

(Right now the game focuses on the American league format, but we are already working on bringing EuroLeague and domestic leagues in future updates!)

🤝 Why this Subreddit?
Since there is no big game studio behind this your feedback is our most valuable asset.
We created this subreddit to build a community where you can:

  • Share your wildest trades, dynasties, and drafted busts.
  • Report bugs or weird simulation behaviors so we can fix them.
  • Suggest new features! (We read every single comment).
  • Share custom rosters and community creations.

📥 Download the Game:

We’re just getting started. Thank you for giving Dunk Manager a try and for helping us build the basketball manager game we’ve all been waiting for.

Enjoy the game, and trust the process!
