Kidde Fire Alarms ruining my life
We moved into our rental house 3 years ago, with a separate basement apartment - from the day they installed our Kidde Audio/Visual smoke alarms I don’t think I’ve had a full good night sleep due to the crippling anxiety of being jolted awake all the time by “FIRE FIRE FIRE” and strobe lights.
We have mentioned to our landlords MULTIPLE times and he has replaced ones that were flashing red after they go off. I think 2-3 times now. Random times of the year always between 2-5am they start going off for no reason. One night they didn’t shut off for 20 minutes and I almost called the fire dept (landlord was woken up at 3am to a nice phone call) Summer or winter, heat or AC. The same one in the basement kept causing issues until they took that one out completely, but now it seems to be a different one causing the false alarms all the time. Then it’s every few days, or every few weeks there’s no telling when they go off again.
But it feels like the boy who cried wolf, jump out of bed, turn your nose on and start sniffing around the house to make sure all is well.
Any tips??? Might call fire department to see what they recommend because we have tried all we can do.
