This isn’t a post looking for compliments 😂 Genuine feedback is welcome, good or bad.

The goal is to keep building this into a community that people actually enjoy being part of, not just another place to scroll past watches.

For those who don’t know me, I’m James from Alternative Luxury and I’m one of the Trusted Dealers here in the group. I’ve been around the community for a while now and I’d genuinely like to hear what you guys think.

And which wrist do you wear your watch on?

Is there a “right” or “wrong” way, or does it all come down to comfort and personal preference? 💭

Traditionally, most right handed people wear their watch on the left wrist, and most left handed people wear it on the right.

But plenty of collectors do the complete opposite whether it’s for comfort, style, or simply because that’s what they’re used to.

I’d like to hear this from a customer’s perspective.

Imagine we’ve been chatting back and forth for 30 minutes with replies coming within seconds. We’ve agreed on the watch, QC has been approved, you’re 100% happy, and I send over the payment details…

Then you disappear.

My question is: How long do you think I should hold that watch before offering it to someone else?

As a general rule, if I wake up to a message from someone wanting an in-stock watch, I’ll happily hold it for 24 hours because I know we’re all in different time zones.

The situation I’m talking about is when we’ve been actively chatting in real time, everything is agreed, payment details are sent, and then there’s no response.

I genuinely try to keep every customer happy, but at the same time I don’t want to lose a sale by holding a watch indefinitely when someone else is ready to buy.

What’s a fair amount of time in that situation?

Rolex Datejust 36mm or 41mm… which are you choosing? 🤔⌚

This debate never seems to end.

Some people say the 36mm is the perfect Datejust. It’s the original size, timeless, elegant, and wears beautifully on almost any wrist. It has that classic Rolex look that never goes out of style.

Others won’t wear anything smaller than the 41mm. It has more wrist presence, feels more modern, and if you’ve got larger wrists, it can look better proportioned.

But here’s the interesting part…

I don’t actually think it’s all about wrist size.

Your personal style plays just as big a role.

If you wear tailored clothes, prefer a more understated look, or appreciate vintage styling, the 36mm often feels right.

If your style is sportier, you like your watch to stand out, or you simply enjoy a bigger presence on the wrist, the 41mm can be the better choice.

So what’s more important when choosing a Datejust…
